I anticipate this (Bandit/Skeleton), for us UK boys anyway, to be £300 pounds. £200 for Skeleton and slightly over £100 for Bandit. If it's a lot more I'll just pack it in and sell the rest and keep RoadKing, obviously. If it comes in slightly more than anticipated I'll just get it, and see if it's worth the hassle, if it is.....I'm keeping it, if it isn't let's just say I'll be about £600 richer with a RoadKing on my shelf.

 

I'm never buying another fanstoys product after Bandit. Buying something shouldn't be a challenge. I've been tempted to just sell the 4 cars a few times in the last two months. They look tremendous, especially road king, but the lack of updates and preorder insanity surrounding every single release is just too much effort for what these are.

 

I mean, I'm getting it. I just know I won't be happy with what it will retail as.

Quietus reissue is $300 and sold out. Quietus is not the figure RK is, and that retailed at $130??? yes, 2020 and whatever.


It'd be nice to know once and for all what "rk priced" actually means for FT at this time.

 

Yeah, I'm thinking FT will reissue Roadking at something like $500. Then when they release Bandit with the combiner parts for $500 they can say, "See, we told you they're fine together for the same price as Roadking!” before blaming the insane price on either COVID or the stores' markup.

I just cant justify the cost of five bots and a skeleton. If theyre in bot mode (my intention) fine but its getting up to the cost of my shitty car...

 

100% with you on this. This hobby is supposed to be a relief from stress, not a source of it. I’ll be dipping out on this stuff until when/if prices and availability return to normal. Hasbro has been knocking it out of the park with the SS and WFC stuff and most of it is cheap and (mostly) readily available. I have MP representations of nearly all of the characters I really wanted anyway.

And if things don’t return to normal, well my kids are at an age where they mostly don’t care about this stuff and my wife will be much happier that I’m not devoting money and space to more stuff.

Whilst I understand what you're getting at with FT's price gouging....was it ever said that Bandit and the skeleton would be the same price as Road King? Didn't Dalianjj say that the total price would be equal to price of RoadKing + price of carbot which in this case would the skeleton + Bandit, respectively?

 

Initially it was the total price, but the latest update after COVID was that it would be Roadking + carbot.

They haven’t shown anything at the last 2 TFCons so I wouldn’t expect much. Last we heard he said they’d show the updated Chomp at a TFCon last year or so

No...it's always been said to be as a single release, like with the FT Superion set.

A few posters have noted they would prefer it to be a split release so they can just get the final member for bot mode if that is all they want (including myself for Superion), but it's just board discussion, not based on anything FT have said.

I guess one of the many customizers out there might by the combiner skeleton which should help offset cost for those who just want the bot mode!!!

 

Fans toys is to blame in limiting their stock but retailers as well are to blame. If they simply add a limit 1 per buyer than it will give people more time to pick them up. Preorders will still sell out as people will just buy 1 from each store...but still limits the amount people can buy and it could act as a deterrent.

I know many retailers allows a pre-order limit of up to how many modes...so for most would be 2, 3 for triple changers and combiners...some add an additional to their limit for misb collectors.

 

The thing is people will just open multiple accounts.
