Looks good with an actual yellow eye, why didn't MS think of that?

The black decals look like tattoos. Cool idea.

Shockwave received. IMO a disappointment. Definitely is not made in nylon, my figure has stress marks. This is the third figure that they are using the new material, like hard rigid plastic without flexibility with a few pieces in nylon. That thin bar... is made of nylon, who the heck said titanium?.

Breakdown and Wildrider are made with the same material and IMO they don't give me confidence to transform and play with them, but this Shockwave is my first MST figure that I'm really AFRAID to transform with these thin pieces and rigid material. Ah, the dead eye is useless, the light piping has the ball joint in the center... Light can't pass through there.

Don't misunderstand me, all you know that I'm a pretty big fan of MST but this decisions are starting to being uncomfortable. I stopped to collecting 3P MP figures because of the QC issues and materials, if I have to be worried about the same on expensive Legend figures... I'm capable to stop my collection again.

I value playability over aesthetics, I mean, I don't need a super mega complex engineering to enjoy a figure, but I really need sturdy and tough figures... This Shockwave is perfect in aesthetics but is a step back on quality...

Glad to see that @ShowZStore stopped to put enormous codebar-stickers on the artboxes. :lol

Oo, this is worrying. Like you, I prefer to be able to handle my figures. And that has been the big appeal of magic square to me. I could be him-fisted and transform figures out of order without having to worry about breaking stuff. This new material is the reason I held off on getting the stunticons, and it looks like I'm going to skip this Shockwave as well.

Sorry you feel this figure is disappointing Manel. Plastic isn't nylon indeed. First I felt a bit disappointed about that, but it's fine now. I think Spock is rock solid, the joints as well. My figure doesn't have the stress mark, sorry to hear you have the stress mark. Allthough I did miss the nylon plastic at first, I still am very pleased with Spock and I can tell you, I've transformed him multiple times and he's very very sturdy. No need to worry about breaking him, so go ahead and play with Spockie :)

Yeah, that initial reaction carries some weight because I know you like their stuff.

I wish light piping would just go away. If they're not going to put an LED in there then it's just pointless.

Stress marks are upsetting too. You know how to reduce them with heat though, right? Hair dryer on low, or very hot water.

If you're saying they smacked a big barcode sticker on this beautiful box art then I think that's the point I'm going to be most upset with!

Despite the drawbacks, I loved the MS nylon treatment. My OCD has a hard time with stress marks and if it won't correct with heat treatment I invariably sell it off as damaged goods. Not surprised MS has shifted away from it tho - nylon's not only more expensive than ABS but, when they first started to roll their stuff out, many made a point of saying "great sculpt, wish it had paint." Guess that's why I have two MS Megs - painted metallic ABS version for show - which looks amazing - and the noticeably more durable OG nylon version for play. Definitely not my ideal collecting pattern, however - they should be one and the same.

hmmm… might end up regretting purchasing this and selling it on like i did BB. the incomplete and messy looking bot backpack/alt cannon barrel, the awkward gap with the gun handle and how it connects with the rest of the blaster body in alt mode, and now possibly poor quality plastic. :(

Nah, this time in my case no enormous barcode sticker. But seriously, MST disappointed me with this and Wildrider / Breakdown... these figures are like an improved MFT figure (YES I said Mech Fans Toys).

Ya I didn’t care for their Stunticons. They looked to have the same level of complexity and detail as a Hasbro deluxe. Felt underwhelming for a MST figure. Then again those figures were designed like 4 years ago and finally released now. Shockwave looks okay. As of right now I feel like MST peaked at Megatron.

I humbly disagree with you. Also, the wildrider / breakdown figures were mostly designed years ago. There’s a reason MS-B36 Megatron is nicer than MS-B15 Wildrider.

I think he looks great except for his legs. I hate the Windows on Windows on Windows look. But he is super clean. But I still think Megatron is better.
Yes I literally have said that. It’s part of my post that you didn’t quote about Megatron vs Stunticons pack 1. As of Devy it’s to soon to judge.

Yes, he certainly is, but he probably won't be nylon either. I think we'll just have to accept it.
