Does it look good? Absolutely! It looks great! I just can’t get behind these corporate Scumbag tactics of making sure we all buy the inferior product first then a couple years later, dangle the GOOD one in front of our nose.
Looks way better than the crappy Hasbro paintjobs. But not painting the rest of the plates on Hun-grr\'s neck and tail was a total fail. Maybe they didnt have it in the cartoon, but Takara needs to do a better job distinguish between cartoon accurate color changes that were intentional vs. changes that were made to save the artists time. Then they can ignore the time constraint changes and stop being so damn literal.
POTP is 3 years old already, so its a reissue of the mold. Its kind of one of those things that you know the reissue is coming so if a Takara color scheme is what youre after, then wait it out. I like to display the teams along with the combiner so I dont mind this. Of course I skip the Takara releases for the BS. teams. (Volcanicus, super Prime, Sky-Reign) I did buy Grand Galvatron because it was a neat original idea. Also plan to buy a Takara Orthia if it comes out next.
I decided to pull the trigger at Robot Kingdom for this guy and Volcanicus. The total doesn't come out to much more than it does with Pulse, and it's a lot better than waiting until at least July.
I normally cop to the Japanese repaints but I\'m struggling with this one. All I see that\'s better is the chest plate.
There's a part of me that would like to get this version and a frankenstein the parts with my existing PotP version to create the best looking Abominus and the other part of me says "that will be another $200".
Yeah. Did that with Computron, and the two versions were different enough to convince me. But this version is less of an improvement and more of a misunderstanding

This and Volcanicus are the world's most expensive upgrade kits. Am I still buying them? Yes. But I'm gonna complain the whole time.
I just hated it because Abominus was already a favorite of mine. As a kid I got Hun-Grr, then I had to do odd jobs until I had the cash for the other 4, so I was invested in the character. I like PoTP Abominus. He’s sitting on my Decepticon shelf. Then they put out “better” Abominus. And I’m over here like “c’mon man”
Hun-grr's beast mode is vastly improved with the lack of undercarriage, but again, you could do that at home with minimal modding and some chest shield variant.
Eh, it's not enough of a difference for me to want to buy this set again. Like Volcanicus, this is an easy pass.
Nobody answered my earlier question: Is it possible to attach the hands and feet accessories to the individual Terrorcons like the original? Also, I'm hoping for a separate KO of Hun-Gurrr with his accessories. He's the only figure of this set I'm interested in.
His pinkish purple is more vibrant than the stock photos, but nowhere near as garish as some in hand photos might suggest. Just opening mine now.
Most likely not. There are pegs and holes, so you can probably find a way to do it, but no official way to do so.
I only have God Neptune, but i found a very easy way to attach all of his four hands and the feet only to his limb-bots with a satisfying looking effect. I usually don't display him with his firearms on (i only care about his sword) but i found a way to put them on the bots too. So i doubt there is no solution for this guy, considering he has two hands less to attach... Ok, maybe the official pics didn't show any, but remember, Hasbro and Takara weirdly lack in fantasy when it comes to transform or find display configurations for their own products... How many times they shown official promo pics of mistransformed bots?
