TT are probably worse than 3P, they are expensive, mass produced figures with the economies of scale and experienced designers who should be able to produce more faithful and complex figures at a reasonable cost...but they can't or just don't, and charge the $$ like they did.

MPM Prime vs say TW or UT Prime...not even close. TW \ UT aimed for the stars and aimed for and nearly hit the holy grail of a non transformable figure bot mode that ACTUALLY TRANSFORMS while still being screen accurate, while TT has been 'meh. I guess you will accept it? Give me money!' level.

    I just got mine today--

    Totally AMAZING.

He is standing on a table with the sun covering him, looks so realistic!

I'm sure I'll keep findings details hiding in plain sight just like Blitzwing. I pulled the magazine out of the rifle, so cool there is a shell. I love the belt and pulley details on the forearms, truck parts throughout.

The torso joint is very unique, never seen anything like that before.

I read other posts about an odd odor once they opened him, same here. I also had to wipe him down, an oily film was present in some areas.

I'm glad you're enjoying the figure. I had mine since the day it was released and I'm still loving it today. It has such a presence, it's hard not to glace when I walk by it. I have no regrets dropping $200 for this.

As a side note, this guy has been holding insane value. Looking on eBay, Amazon, and TFSource, he's going for $300. I guess you can't get him at MSRP anymore?

Mine came into my POL at BBTS. Had to keep delaying it due to life stuff, but I’m excited to finally own it. Gonna be a centerpiece in my Prime collection for sure

Yeah, the weathering on the head is normal. Though, how it's applied looks slightly different from my copy (below).

Ah so each copy has different amounts of weathering on the head, correct?

It seems like they have the same amount of weathering but it's applied slightly differently throughout the copies.

So I'm going back and forth between this guy and MPM12 Optimus Prime. As someone who poses his transformers alot would you say this guy can stand up the playability department to MPM?

I'm trying to decide the route i wanna take for live action G1. Masterpiece or ThreeZero? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I’ll probably end up getting both, but the ThreeZero figures are more poseable than Masterpiece and are very durable. I am finding their Premium line to be less durable, but the DLX line you can pose all day long with zero issues. If the lack of transforming isn’t a huge deal, then I think ThreeZero Prime is *vastly* superior. Honestly, it’s not even close. The ThreeZero figure feels, looks, and behaves like it’s a figure that cost four times that of a Masterpiece figure…and this is coming from a guy who owns almost every Masterpiece figure and every DLX figure.

While I do plan to get ThreeZero Premium figures too, I would say that right now their DLX line is their killer product. They are just hard to beat for the money.

So this helps alot thank you. While i like the idea of the fun described in the MPM transformation i think I'll go with ThreeZero and grab one or two MPMs.

Especially with you saying ThreeZero Dlx no contest and then being durable. Accuracy, playability, and durability are key for making a decision.

Yeah it’s a really solid piece with tons of diecast (very heavy) and very well balanced for posing. I ended up tracking down all 3 versions of the DLX Prime for my collection I liked it so much. My only nitpicks are that I wish it had a set of fully articulated hands, and I wish there was a bit more head articulation. Very minor issues though.

I'm surprised no 3rd party has answered the call with the hands. You give him articulated hands and maybe a swap out axe. I'd buy that.

To be honest I went about this decision with a false assumption, I thought MPM was in the same price as normal Masterpieces (the $100 to $500 range), but after some clarification from the MPM-12 forum the I think I can manage buying both.

MPM releases appear to be much slower occurrences (especially as my interest is solely in the G1 range) and they are much cheaper. So realistically how much financial bandwidth is MPM taking a year? $200 to $300 max. This gives plenty of bandwidth to purchase ThreeZero stuff and the Adhoc Generations stuff too.

I like the idea of getting both so I can have one I transform and display it in vehicle form, and I’ll have the ThreeZero display piece.

I wish someone made high-quality representations of the alt modes. I don't care for the transforming part as I do it rarely. I care more about the accuracy and I'd love to have the alt modes displayed next to my Threezero figures. The closest thing we have are the Jada figures but they're just not that good.
