Cheers... but it's not my birthday yet... that's why I've not got it yet. I'd be a little peeved if my birthday had gone and my wife still hadn't given me my gift yet... although she does have previous in that area, but not maliciously... she forgets where she's hidden things and I'll suddenly be presented with a gift months after when it was bought for.
Duuuuuh!!! You did say she put it away for your bday. Lmfao!!! I'm gonna go bury my head in the sand somewhere lol. Well happy early bday lol. But yup, my mom has been guilty of putting things away so securely, that she's completely forgotten where she put them lol.
You know what... I shouldn't like this thing as much as I do. It has plenty of flaws... no swivels in the waist, hips or knees, and limited articulation overall; a lot of visible robo-kibble in bike mode, and a lot of visible bike-kibble in 'bot mode; it can't really balance without its stand; and it's own name is printed on it three bloody times (I hate over-branding... I would never buy a Superdry jacket for that reason... want me to be a walking billboard for you, you pay me... sorry, off topic, but it's a real bugbear of mine). However, the sculpt, materials, paint, and use of colour are gorgeous, the transformation is easy, fun and novel, and overall this thing just looks really cool. My Cang-Toys Firmament (Divebomb) turned up on Friday, and although that figure is stunning in every way, and is just on another level compared to Cyclion, Cyclion is the one I've been messing with more. Its simplicity is kind of a draw, whereas even the thought of manipulating Firmament is a little intimidating and frustrating (as is the case with most MP figures these days). Cyclion is just simply more fun. I got this to be a Decepticon (she's purple... what else can she be?) counterpoint to Big Firebird's Nicee, and in that respect, job well done.
I feel like I’m on the same page...I can’t help but like her despite the issues. She just looks and feels so good.
Awe man, the lack if articulation definitely sucks, as U enjoy posing my figs on my shelves, and wifey's on her desk. But in sure I can figure something out. I don't mind her bits showing in either mode, as I was fully aware Tuesday would be the case, since she technically isn't a transformer, and her different modes aren't meant to hide either mode. I'm glad to hear that the paint and materials used are good!! Wifey's really looking forward to getting her, and like you adding her to her Decepticon ranks lol.
I also have to agree with you. I just opened her up and started to mess with her. The first thing I noticed was how well painted she is. The color is just stunning. The next thing I noticed as I picked her up, was just how heavy she is. I was not expecting her to have as much diecast as she does. So build, materials and paint are all highlights which almost complete negates the less than normal (by today's MP standards) articulation and balance. Don't get me wrong, you can still get her into some nice poses but a waist swivel and ankle rocker would go a long way. All in all, Good Smile did a great job and I'd definitely be in on the inevitable repaints and/or new figures from them.
If they are willing to do so, I would love for them to add full ankle articulation and to make the wheel removable from her thighs. Thigh rotation would be nice as well. Still, she’s a beautiful figure!
all the kibble is removable, the ones on the thighs just take a little more force. this doesn't cause any damage, and is easily reversible.
Nice! I didn't know the thigh wheels could be popped off. I tried to pull them off gently when I got her, but they didn't feel removable and I didn't force them. Will try again...lol...
I fig'd I'd drop by and share some pics wifey took. Does anyone know if they're planning on making more? I know there's some pics pages back of what seem like prototypes, but I didn't find anything on their page.
I hate how her “relaxed” hands are for some reason in a Spider-Man web slinging pose and I don’t know why
Yea, I personally find those a little weird too. I feel like they should've went with the look the pre-posed Gundam hands have. That would've been a much better look!!
Is the thigh kibble the same port size as the rest? So it you pull the thigh wheels out, could they plug into her arms? I recently came across this figure and I'm deciding if I want to pick her up or not. For the people that have had her for a little while now, do you still like her?
Finally picked her up a little while ago, scared to pluck off the thigh wheels, but will keep attempting it.
Did this figure ever go down in price? The original $100+ prices didn't convince me after watching the reviews. Not enough articulation. But I'd bite if it went on sale. I still see it at $95+/-.
