Dude come off it, you seem to believe that a series that is widely disliked by the majority of modern society until Bumblebee came along somehow would not be disliked by the majority of of people on a transformers website.

Seriously, TFW still lets there be an active movie discussion board, every single other Transformers fansite with a forum that I've seen has long since either condemned theirs to being a ghost town or condensed into a single discussion thread.

Plus, if you're still getting this upset over the same stupid crap that's been going on for nearly 15 years, where people can speak their minds about a movie series that's widely disliked, then the real world is going to kick your ass.

 

The majority of modern society? Highly doubtful. If that were true it wouldn't be a billion dollar franchise.

 

It was a billion dollar franchise, by the end? Not so much. Besides as I'm sure we all know, being a success financially doesn't mean it's well made / constructed. It can mean that, but often times objectively poor films / pieces of work will do really well and sometimes really well made stories won't do as good and often the reasons for that happening are varied and complicated. To say it's a good film series because it did well financially for awhile is a bad argument.

Honestly at this point I'd rather we didn't get the Bayformers money if it meant we got to keep the 'soul' of Transformers from being bastardized. TF was doing fine at the time the movies were announced, I would have preferred we just wait a few years and then find someone who actually cared to do it right and have them give it a go.

 

That's one film, it's not like franchises haven't bounced back before. We have no way of knowing how a follow up to TLK would have done. And being well made has nothing to do with how much people like it. Lots of terrible movies are well liked.

 

I wasn’t even getting upset, but okay. It seems like you’re getting really mad here simply because I pointed out how most people have made it their personality to hate the Bay films.

 

That road goes two ways, unfortunately, because there are those who hate the films, but there also those who doubled down and made it so their personality is that the films are the end-all, be-all of the franchise, as if the 20-something years before the 2007 movie didn't matter, and basically pissed all over respecting the opinions of other people who think the films aren't that great.

It's a cycle of negative feedback, sadly.

And I agree wholeheartedly. I didn’t mean to come across as an emotional dick, I was just simply making an observation. My POV is someone who was introduced to this franchise through the first Bay film in 2008 and constantly had to listen to garbage like “That’s not real Transformers. You’re a fake fan if you like it.” But, as I said, I agree. I cringe whenever I see Bay fans say stuff like “More SS86 crap?! Come on!” or anything like that. I’ll even admit that I, of course, had my problems with SS86 (that was no secret. I was honestly upset when it first leaked and I think you and I even had some words) but I’ve sucked it up and I’ve even collected some of the toys (pretty much all of them except the Dinobots. I like the Dinobots, but I just don’t think the screen accuracy looks that good for them) because they’re genuinely fun.

I like the Bay films way better than the Bumblebee movie.

I can easily ignore the The Last Knight and the 15 minutes of cringeworthiness through out the first 4 films and really enjoy them.

For a new film, i would hope its not like any of the previous films, and something relatively new.
