Holy Mother of Holy Grails!!!! How did you manage this?

 

Picked up mine from my local EB games store today. Had pretty much forgotten about it by now. Bit of a struggle to get in the car.
Frankly I’m not really interested in it anymore. My interest in collecting has nosedived this last year with rising prices and the nightmare that buying FansToys products has become (they were more and more the majority of my collection with their appealing designs but have become such a pain to buy). I used to pick up a couple figures a month, but I’ve bought maybe 4 or 5 total in the last year.
As for Unicron, I just don’t really see a place for it in my collection - too big to display but too small for scale, robot mode feels messy and greebly to me (coming from a Masterpiece collection of course) I pre-ordered it on a whim because it was better than missing out and regretting it later but ... it’s not really inspiring me enough to justify the high price.
I think I’m just gonna chuck it on eBay. Put a minimum bid on it that gets me enough to make it worthwhile and then see what it goes for. Always the risk with ordering things so far in advance, by the time it arrives it may no longer be wanted.

 

Ah, gotcha. I did read it after putting the code in, so that might be the case. But I did essentially 'buy it', so there's no reason why it should disappear if I don't read it immediately.

Not buying it in the first placeis a different thing altogether.

Wha? It seems, that you got Haslab Unicron Circus version. Seriously, qc has failed badly. How that is even possible? I mean, how is it possible for a product to leave the factory like that? On the other hand, those two figures might be rare, so it might be worth to keep those.   Edit: Apparently protos.

After a good bit of deliberation, which actually turned into mostly a process of elimination, I think I've figured out where and how this figure will be displayed in my collection:

 

Purple Potato looks wonderful next to Unicron.

An in-scale(ish) rendition of the ship would be nice too, but Purple Potato displays so beautifully with him.

Huh...I guess I always just thought Cybertron was way bigger than Earth because Cybertronians are so much bigger than humans. Interesting.

I need some gap fillers for his hands. That's the only thing about this figure that bugs the absolute crap out of me.

I have a small paint scuff on the yellow part of the knuckle out of the box. Not a major deal, but does anyone know what kind of paint that matches that I can use to touch it up?

To those who used the screwhole covers, are any of you worried that there might be impending 3P upgrade kits that could potentially force you to have to remove the screwhole covers? I'm probably most worried about the hands and needing to open up the forearms to replace the hands.

 

The hands are already pretty well articulated, what could a 3rd party set really accomplish better?

 

Wrist hinge and additional hinge at the base knuckle for finger spread. Oh and paint.

You're making me think of stuff I hadn't considered before. If Cybertron IS merely the size of Earth's moon, but Cybertronians are several times as large as humans, then it stands to reason that they can explore their entire planet in a small fraction of the time it would take to explore ours. There can only be a few major countries, or whatever the Cybertronian equivalent is... indeed, maybe that's why we only ever hear of Cybertronian cities....

 

I finally heard back from them and as far as I can tell, they want me to send it back, then they will send another. Uh what? That can't possibly be more cost effective than exchanging a part of it. Plus, others are still waiting to get theirs in the first place. They have an extra to swap, but no extra parts?
