They'll straighten it out eventually, right now Reboost is just plain outselling Skids. Reboost is #1 on AJP and Rakuten while Skids is 6th on AJP and I havent seen a Rakuten ranking for him yet. I wonder if they scared people off who preferred the toon style and arent really sold on some of the stuff with Skids. In fairness it does seem like Reboost is getting a lot more attention,even a good chunk of the twitter bots for Skids tweets are for Reboost. Maybe we have it backwards Reboost is the mold and Skids is the repaint. I don't think the motocompo would have made a difference anyway for people buying this as Skids, but I think the barebones accesories as well as lack of at least alternate face or helmet is making people take a wait and see approach. They really needed that photo with the newer stuff to show that Skids still fits, maybe in a week or so we'll get some new pics.

I, for one, want quality figures at reasonable prices and I'm not prone to using most accessories that come with MPs. But that aside, I think the bottom line is Takara realizes this is not Optimus, Megatron, or a seeker or really a popular character at all. So, giving him less accessories and keeping him more affordable was the best way to go. I mean, they can't add a 30 cent energon axe and charge an extra $10 more like they can with Prime.

 

Please don't post those crooks here. I know you prefaced it but they are just stealing people's money at this point. I used them happily for years then almost got burnt on MP-45 but was able to force the chargeback on my card provider (Citibank) when NY and their bank ignored all correspondence from Citi. They didn't deliver MP-47 either but that refund was easier to claim through PayPal since it was within their time limit.

No-one should be trusting them with their hard earned, there are plenty of other well priced options.

No. You're very much misconstruing words and jumping conclusions. People, myself included, are disappointed in the lack of accessories, period. No one wants to pay more..that's just dumb. The difference is do you find value in the extra cost or not?

To me its silly that Reboost comes multiple more accessories, for the same price. But also the precedent TT, themselves has set, to the point that the most recent + releases have also come with more and new accessories to better match the current playstyle.

I'll never use 90% of the extra stuff these figures come with...most of the time I even just use the plain old basic, stoic face. But knowing TT puts the effort in to include them, to try to increase the interaction between figures, to help recreate an iconic scene, to add some additional fun to their figures, does add value to that figure for me.

So no, we're not "mad" he's not more expensive. Just disappointed he doesn't match the current standards. And if that means he costed more, then so be it.

Now, here, yes, you're probably correct. Skids has no scene specific accessories to include. But Reboost still comes with plenty of extras at the same low price. So why not a few extra faces? A toy head to match his toy styling?

 

Eh more accessories is a double edged sword.


I'd love extra faces and an extra accessory or two besides the gun. But if bullshit prices means that fewer accessories will be included, many that will just be kept in the box (in MP-44's case his $200 box), I'm all for it.

 

Totally fair point of view, and just as valid. I think Prime is a poor example though, as it's such the other end of the extreme. Reboost is the best example as it's literally nearly the same mold, and is coming out at the same time.

But more to the point, it's silly to bemoan being "forced" to pay more for accessories you don't want, but then mock those would.
