Heres an idea. SG Gavatron was a shoehorned cop-out because not only did someone want to see Galvatron made from that mold, but because the Club never had much faith in their figures, so they all had to be “double” homages in order to appeal to two groups of people.

Because of this, while some of their figures are great, others were made more with the intention of being someone else despite what their fiction stated.

So.... instead of repainting Galvatron into.... Galvatron, how about a more unique design is made?

Another thing that baffles me is that people don’t seem to understand that Shattered Glass is not a single iteration of the franchise. It is a concept, that a mirror universe exists, and it is applicable to every iteration in the franchise.

So for example, throughout the vast array of universes amongst the multiverse, there exists an SG style universe per each iteration. There is a G1 SG universe. There is an Aligned SG universe. There is a Movie SG universe, and so on and so forth. Shattered Glass iterations of characters do not have to be based entirely off of what Funpub chose(especially as their choices were forced). A Shattered Glass G1 Megatron can turn into a gun, or a tankc or any of the modes he has assumed over the years.

Funpub’s take on SG was more intended to be of the Classics Universe, but again, SG is not a single iteration as much as it is a concept that exists in variety throughout the multiverse, and to that end while some core characteristics need to remain, not all figures need to be direct updates of Funpub’s own. Such as the forced double homage that was their “SG”(aka G1) Galvatron.

SG Galvatron just needs a whole new color scheme. Just because the original SG material was a Galvatron colored helicopter doesn't mean he always has to be.

Remember that Animated was going to have a SG Starscream with Sky Garry's colors instead of Jetfire. We don't always have to stick to the original comics, in fact, I think that just about every character that uses their diaclone colors (especially Tracks and Hoist, whose diaclone colors already have identities of their own) and most of the characters that are just pallet swaps of their faction counterpart (Fort Max and Scorponok, Technobots and Terrorcons ETC) should have new colors. Pallet swaps aren't bad, SG just does it too much in my opinion. I always prefer when they use the colors of a character with some other, often vague, connection to the one being recolored, like Nautica having the Space Pirate seacons colors, or Ratbat being batman.

IF we get more SG (I would love more than just the five planned but won't be shocked if they don't do more), and they make a Galvatron, I wouldn't mind him having his kingdom mold in some new color scheme (maybe something like Optimus prime or Marvel comic Prima colors could look nice, or even a green color scheme as green and purple are common complimentary colors)

I like the idea of this fig but something about the face isn't quite doing it for me.

I like him a lot, with his creepy deviant grin and slashed eye under the patch.

It cracks me up that back in 2008 Funpub went to the expense of remolding a new head for SG Blurr because they were (apparently) legitimately unaware that a Blurr head already existed for the mold. And now, 13 years later, Hasbro decides to just honor that head mold and run with it... turning what could have been a straight cash-grab repaint into a slightly more interesting figure. All of it makes little sense from a budget perspective, but I’m glad they’re doing it.

EDIT: Correction, it sounds like Funpub WAS aware of the existing Blurr head. I must've misremembered that. Never mind!

Still glad the figures share the head design, though, for consistency.

The black arm scoops make him look much slimmer.

Love this head on this body/deco. Blurr lost an eye and decided to go full-on Joker. He looks like he'd fit right in with a lot of G2 displays, color and attitude-wise.

there were two ways to do Shattered Glass repaints - repaint a character as themselves but with a faction switched color scheme. Or to give a character a faction switch alternate mode but with the G1 color scheme. Either way, something had to stay familiar, be it the mold or the color scheme.

SG Optimus Prime was repainted from Optimus Prime with an evil color scheme. SG Galvatron was given an heroic alternate mode, a rescue helicopter, something G1 Galvatron would never have, but kept his G1 colors. Both are valid and acceptable ways. I don’t see it as a cop-out or lacking faith, just that something had to stay familiar. Of course, that did not count when repurposing toys which Botcon often did.

color scheme's nice, but that head sculpt is just way too derpy.
(yet somehow, less derpy then SS86 Blurr's)

Question: Is SG Rumble Red or Blue?

    I'll let myself out.

The light blue plastic still bothers me but the headsculpt's pretty good. wish there was some way to give him hanging wings somewhere though for the SG seeker feel.

SG Frenzy is blue because he uses Eject’s colorscheme. Rumble is based on Rewind’s, and thus black.
