I tried it but didn’t get your result. While logged out, it still doesn’t show any available from Amazonjp.

Well there was that time where he exploded into oblivion.

Although considering MP has only referenced Marvel like, once, this would never happen.

I'll wait for the cartoon accurate Skids 2.0 in 2045.

Unless the option has a basis in something established, we don't need pointless plastic to up the price on a figure. Random faces aren't necessary.

I'm not certain, but I thought I heard something about TT not being able to offer support outside of their region (not able as in not allowed per their agreement with Hasbro). That's why you have to go through your retailer and they usually just switch out your copy.

Yeah, I'm waiting for this too. Been keeping an eye on Reboost to make sure he doesn't sell out in the meantime.

For MP-49 I think they took out part of the knee mechanism so it doesn't do the automatic bend. This tends to lead to the wrong joint moving first and then it can kind of pop out of place more than it should. You can pop it back in, but it's more like trading one issue for another.

Maybe your state doesn't charge sales tax? Like TCP and TFSource doesn't charge me tax.

But I noticed AMZjp started to charge tax at least to NY.

This made me realize another way Skids is a callback to the old days: Amazon Japan being finicky about what it was willing to export. Thus being ignored in favor of AmiAmi hlj and the like.... Ah Memories.

That's right--per their agreement with Hasbro, TT can only sell (and thus provide CS support) for Transformers within Japan, and they are responsive to Japanese customers. As far as I know, Hasbro Asia doesn't provide customer support directly so they push it onto individual retailers. So no, outside Japan, TT is not going to send you replacement parts directly, but it's not due to "worse" or "no" customer support compared to little 3Ps. It would perhaps be reasonable to blame Hasbro though :D

They really should have just given him a normal knee. Don't know why they though it had to be so complex considering they hadn't done it before or since.

Not to mention better articulation. But you do realize the guy doesn't like 3P right? For him, it's Takara, Takara all the way.

I don't blame people at all for being wary of QC since hound. My arcee smokescreen and prime are fine, but my bee is very prone to paintchipping and the left hand stuck and broke off when I forced it too much trying to get it to open. Still a great figure and the price I pay for having a lot of paint.
Just because they have been relatively QC free since hound, the precedent is set that they have produced and sold a figure which is prone to falling to bits. They then offered no commentary on why this happened (as far as we are aware), and worst of all the figures are still being sold online to unsuspecting buyers. They did it once and so could very easily do it again. If they had acknowledged the issue and stated it would never happen again I would be a lot more comfortable buying these figures at such high prices. While it's wrong to say that the newer figures are continuously riddled with QC issues, the fail that they had was a very very big fail and so it's no wonder people's attention is drawn to subsequent defects.

Someone earlier in the thread said they’d seen/bought at €55, which is £48. I’ve seen listed for UK retail at £70-80.

I’ve not checked Euro retail myself, just trusting my fellow TF fans. Follow the quote links back and you’ll see it.

Nope, in California! Just avoiding it somehow. For what it's worth I asked two of my buddies who also order from AJ in other states (North Carolina and Massachusetts) and they don't get charged either. Must be hit or miss.

Hard disagree! Every figure with a face should have a minimum of stoic, smiling and shouting faces regardless of references in media.

You can disagree all you want, but the fact that everyone is pleased with how low the price is on these guys without such extras says plenty.

The whole 10 cents that they cost to produce is gonna jack the price up 50 dollars? Maybe if it's XTB, but at least to their credit they bother to make alternative faces.
