My first run Hound is still in great shape. No breaks, no chips, not even a hairline fracture. Sucks that so many have had issues. I’m curious now how many people didn’t have issues. I’ve talked to several western toy retailers of collectibles about the chances to get the coronation gear. Every one of them said it’s a Japanese exclusive Mail-in offer that won’t be available in the west or Hasbro Asia. It’s a one and done deal. Pretty sure a KO offering will be available if that’s true.
I’m prepared to pay out the nose on eBay for the coronation set . Unless the set becomes available via & etailer , it’s the only option I see .
I looked up the prices at places like AE. It would cost almost 200$ extra to source Skywarp and Thundercracker from Japan. That is simply too much of a mark up to justify it. I'm prepared to pay a lot too.... but if it's something like $200 I'm going to be pretty unhappy.... actually I'll be even more unhappy if TT just leaves the rest of the fandom out in the rain for something that is sort of important to us as a whole. If you want the cape or not it should be offered.
Because of the small scale for this, I wouldn't be surprised if there's eventually a coronation or sleep coronation SS either thru ttmall or at the behest of Hasbro Asia. As much as I like the crown I definitely would have preferred a reworked cape and epaulettes, so no rea skin off of my teeth, still think it's a pretty cool initiative for their domestic fanbase, something that cant get stressed enough is their #1priority.

I'm hoping that Hasbro Asia gets them in abundance. Remember the days when amazonjpn got all the exclusive items and then a few months later they would become available widespread? For a time it was a pain in the ass to get Soundwaves additional Energon cubes and Sideswipes pile drivers. I got some faith that history will repeat itself here, although it may take some time.
I am glad that Takara is finally giving us what we have been wanting for years, a seeker with a proper waist swivel. Oh, wait.
I could be wrong but it just seems impossible that it won’t have a waist swivel. Yes. There are no pics of it swiveling. Yes that means that I’m a ‘pie in the sky’ dope. Yes I accept I’m probably wrong. But best case scenario is there IS a waist swivel, but it’s a tad ugly or unconventional to use. Still, all that said, I still think this Seeker mold is among the most dynamic molds out there. Waist swivel be damned need be!
Considering the canopy goes into the waist itself in the ab-crunch, rather than having a fake piece on the bottom like Maketoys had to fake the look: I highly doubt he has a waist swivel. Which is a shame cause you'd expect that on a Masterpiece figure. Although he does have the butterfly joint, unbroken silhouette and individual fingers over Meteor (which I find funny it took this long to get individual fingers on MP again).
That comparison makes me appreciate the upcoming Masterpiece even more than I already do. So much life and elegance in the design.
I honestly will be more surprised if it doesn't, than if it does. It's a fake chest canopy, why can't it swivel on the canopy, inside the pelvis?
