BBTS got my Warbotron set in. I'll be waiting to ship mine, but I'm curious what the box is like if anyone ships theirs sooner.

Mine shipped today. If it gets here before any one else’s, I’ll let y’all know. On the West Coast so it’ll probably be next week.

The oversized one seems to be the same price. How is the quality on it and is it the better option?

All depends on your display preferences. I find the 15 inch combiner to be perfect, but they are all but phased out with everyone going to mp or titan scale with thier combiner.

I got the OS and it was seemingly inferior quality. The feet/ankles on brawl were super loose, making it really difficult for him to stand.
I could have gotten a lemon set (the other figures seemed okay) but I still got a semi inferior feel of the material compared to the original.

Are there any add on pieces to get him taller?

I got my copy from BBTS today.

After the release of several other third party bruticus figues WB-01 is showing its age. There's far too many QC issues with my copy for me to say it's a good masterpiece style representation of Bruticus.

For starters, the combiner pegs on the left and right legs are identical which means the spring-loaded tab on the right leg is facing the wrong way. I ended up taking out the tabs in both of the leg connectors because even without the tabs they're still tight. Almost immediately later I suffered a breakage in one of the combiner feet since the "rachet" mechanism they used is held in place by a single tiny little screw, and there's so much force required to index the rachet it snapped in a manner of seconds while I was trying to assemble warbotron for the first time. Then I spent about 2 hours after that dealing with getting Blast-off (forgot the 3rd party name) off the connector peg in Fierce Attack because once again the spring loaded tabs in Blast-off suffered from the issues plaguing earlier releases. Oh yeah and the wrists in combined mode are still too tight like with the original copy.

I think everything that people had problems with from the first revision of WB-01 carried over to this batch....and possibly then some. The constant scarring marks are VERY concerning, hope to god the plastic keeps up over the years, and the plastic clean up is exceptional poor with lots of leftover burrs and bits. No clue if it's being produced by the official company or a different one.

BBTS's sale price of $150 is basically a fake sale price as the figure overall really does feel like it belongs in the sub $200 price bracket instead of the original roughly $500 sticker price it shipped with. But for $150 you get FIVE figures that are more or less to scale with voyager class figures (Fierce Attack/Onslaught is more ultra/leader class scale) so compared to other third party Bruticus it holds the big advantage of an entire warbotron set costing as much as the pre order for the next batch of Assaulticus Onslaughts.

So as long as you're willing to accept the fact that this set is inherently terrible with its tolerances (I had to pry apart vortex/whirlwind's backside, and blast-off's hands with tools to transform them respectively) and it comes with a ridiculous amount of combiner kibble/accessories (feet, hands, chest piece, and the thighs/hips/abdomen nonsense that forms the flat bed of Fierce Attack's vehicle mode) it's great for the price. Hell, if Hasbro made this an official set sure the QC and tolerances would be better but they'd charge a sticker price of probably $250 or $300 just because of the size alone (Like Volcanicus)

Sidenote: the transformations are also really easy compared to the origami you sometimes have to perform with 3rd party figures so that's a cool bonus I guess.

My copy is flawless, but it also has all the revision parts that I suppose the deep discount figure does not.

After deliberating I just opted to get the oversized KO one for $112 of Tsafari. I've wanted a Brute who can stand shoulder to shoulder alongside my OS Gravity Builder on the shelf and for the price I won't be too broken hearted if I encounter some of the snags people are having. Am definitely never using his ankle tilt though. I seriously can't imagine paying $500 for one of these things.

    @Grouch @BronzeLeagueHero -

He doesn’t need to be taller, as he scales with voyagers and is perfect (not MP).

Also in no way is this set anything Masterpiece.

I also still have my original version and never really had any issues. I’m sorry your experience wasn’t good though :/

I don't regret buying it for $150 but I'm more annoyed that I had to pull out a screwdriver at least 3-4 times. If it wasn't for the QC and tolerance issues this set would be 100% worth it to people who didn't want to spend a small fortune on a combiner set.

Also, extra question: did anyone have issues with ratchet joints breaking over time due to the springs breaking apart the shell? I tinkered with one of the leg rachet joints and found the spring to basically be insufferably strong, will that cause problems say 5 or 10 years down the line?

I am just hoping one day someone will put up a copy of KO Airburst for sale.
