Ah yes, it looks as though mine has also shipped.

I decided very late after seeing his transformation. I don’t have any other MP minibots though and skipped on Hunk, Sheridan and Dunerunner...

Spindrift 2.0 will just have to be a deskbot I guess...

I think FT is willing to rush a re-run of any figure to match XTB, but I doubt they're willing to rush a new figure (cliffjumper).

Yeah, I was thinking that they would drop a "final" render to drum up interest(and kill any of xtb's momentum).

??? So what? Cliffjumper isn't next. FT will not rush a figure. Menasaur is still incomplete. FT can show off all the renders they want... they still owe us like 10 (?) Figures from renders. I'm not expecting FT cliffjumper anytime soon.

I agree but it seems kinda meaningless when there have been acoustic wave renders for like 10 years. I just can't see a FT Cliffjumper coming out this year.

I understood you. I just don't buy it. Only a hardcore FT Fanboy changes their buying habits because of a render that's years out. If 3p is allowed to continue that long.

Are you still avoiding MP-13 because of the acoustic wave renders? Just curious.

Me personally, i'm waiting on FT's Soundwave. The prototype we saw in Dec of '19 looks amazing. Yeah MP-13 is still a great figure, but I'd rather have a gap in the collection, rather than buy a filler and then deal with it getting sold.

I bought The THF KO for, I think $45 maybe, a year ago? If a viable KO didn't exist I definitely would've held off.

Fair enough. I suppose this thread is going to be filled with the hardest core fanboys anyways. That's what the thread is for, after all.

I just don't think most people see it that way.

Yeah, man, the proto looks so fucking good. Still keeping my MP-13 but Acoustic Wave is gonna be my main for the display alongside MMC's tapes. Really hoping that we see him come out this year.

Agreed. Considering we only saw Cliff as a silhouette last time, I don't expect anything to come out in regards to him. Already put a PO in for Toro anyway.

Well yeah most people probably don't see it that way. Everyone in the MP community has different taste, experiences, and views on how they want their collection and the way they can complete it. I've been collecting for about 3 years and yeah FT is my favorite company but I also know the flaws they have. Quite a few of my FT figures have a small paint chip starting from out the box. Some tolerances, clearences, and articulation are definitely not the best in the game, but I love the precense of most their figures and the overall quality and feel. I have figures from Takara, Xtransbots, Badcube, Maketoys, etc. It's just that FT releases have been the most consistent TO ME. Obviously I'm not speaking for everyone, and there probably are a few hardcore fanboys in this thread, but just because we prefer to wait for something that will most likely be better and look better than a figure that is starting to be past its time, doesn't mean we're gonna drop all other options when we know a FT's one is coming.

Damn, went on showz to see what FT prices were and noticed Takara seekers are $50 deposit preorders now, what? it used to be $2. I hope this is just a Takara thing

It might have something to do with the deposits they're required to place on orders in order to secure them. I noticed the deposit was 20.00 on Giga Snarl and Grassor, and 5.00 on KFC Blaster. In a similar vein it was only a buck to PO TA Ravage, and BC Gears, and the Insecticons were 3 bucks instead of the standard two. With such varried pricing I feel like it has to be connected to their upfront costs in securing the orders.

I think ShowZ will run up a pre-order to $20 or $50 on a big ticket item. One that they'll need to get pretty firm numbers and don't want to be left with a canceled pre-orders at the end. Lots of folks will pre-order for $1, but you're probably serious if you go in for $50. I know I canceled my $2(?) PO for MP-52 Starscream (got points) just so I could try out Amazon Japan for a big release. Nothing like counting on next day delivery for a huge box rather than getting the SAL treatment and waiting on a boat.
