Probably because they made the mistake of assuming people would just be grown-ups about it and realize that words can have differing meanings and obviously the word was not referring to the UK definition.

They were clearly mistaken.

 

There are lots of plot ideas that Hasbro has as of yet to go through but one of the many stories I wouldn't mind seeing come to fruition is to just watch/see Unicron & Primus duke it out for one final epic rematch and with Unicron
coming out on top. Perhaps Unicron decides to make his own legendary warriors/colony after being severely beaten by Primus/12 Primes and then slowly and methodically plays out the long game with carefully picked out, if
needed to be discarded, none-assuming warriors and followers. It's probably to soon to see this happen due to Hasbro/IDW completely ruining Unicron as a villain and the Matrix(McGuffin) being used each time to destroy him.

 

Cullen's voice is iconic, but I'm more than ready for a replacement that doesn't try to emulate him. The Netflix WFC series has lots of issues, but OP's voice is one that's difficult to ignore. I'd rather hear a great voice actor that doesn't sound like Cullen than a lousy one that tries (but fails) to.

I know for many, Optimus isn't Optimus without that voice, but I'm honestly ready to move on.

 

I grew up with both Garry Chalk and Peter Cullen voicing Optimus. So as long as a new voice actor gets the tone/feel of Optimus down even if the voices themselves are different that's good for me.

 

If someone is making a new G1 Optimus, the grill of the truck should become the abs instead of hiding some other fake one somewhere. Screw the cartoon design for making those different.

 

I remember Magic Square did that. They turned the grill upside-down to give it a little bit of a different look in both modes.

I don't follow most unofficial toys, but that's a really clever way to do that!

 

I got the White one but I really wished I got this version when I had the chance. Hopefully Magic Square does a reissue in the future because the aftermarket prices are getting pretty bad for it. As much as I love the TE one this one does offer more in terms of posability

 

This one strays out a bit. The Tfwiki can be a reliable information source sometimes for anything TF, but has these cringeworthy outdated fandom standards jokes that are atleast a decade old. Usually stuff like: "Armada is the worst thing ever" "Gladly TFA was cancelled at the fandom's rejoice" or worst of all: "GIVE ME YOUR FACE" is embarrassing to read.

 

They did update the Armada page recently. But it's more of an asterisk of "Well the kids who grew up with it still like it" since Armada is now the same age as when G1 was when MP-01 came out. The rest of it still goes on how it's a bad show due to it being rushed while they don't spin these as negative in the G1 summary since it started it all.

Really the thing I find about Tfwiki the most interesting right now is how they are still adamant that Bumblebee is still in the Bayverse, or at least there isn't enough evidence to say otherwise, despite the fact that Hasbro, Paramount, and other sources connected to the new films say it isn't.

 

Their aligned continuity page to me is funny aswell. Because despite that wiki documenting the aftermath of shortcomings from other medias, they still haven't documented how the aligned continuity and it's aftermath was objectively a disaster for the brand.

 

Not sure if this counts as an unpopular opinion but this is something I've been meaning to express for a while now.

I don't like how both Beast Wars and Animated are placed so high on the pedestal by the fandom to the point of trying to make any other TF series look automatically worst by comparison along with any criticisms aimed towards them gets chastised regardless if they're valid critiques or not. It's basically the Avatar the Last Airbender syndrome where they're made to be the gold standard of how a TF show should be like. Yes both shows are rightfully praised for many reasons but they're also not perfect and it's both stupid and unfair to use them as a way to rip any other TF series a new one. It's especially bad when it's used against shows like Prime, RID15 and Cyberverse that are constantly chastised here regardless of any strong points they have. Not to mention that it ignores the fact that other TF shows have characters and stuff in them that are just as good if not better then both BW and TFA.

It also makes both fanbases look bad and no better then the G1 purists. I'm sorry if this angered anyone and it wasn't my intent but I wanted to express it sooner or later.

 

Which shows would that be?

 

Basically shows like RID01, the Unicron Trilogy, Prime, RID15, and Cyberverse mostly. Shows like G1 and Rescue Bots don't get compared that much if at all.

 

Subjectively, I've actually felt the same but instead with TFP. Beast Wars and Animated are well written shows, but I've seen alot more of hate towards more recent stuff like RID15 and Cyberverse for not having Prime's animation which seems to be a pedestal fandom golden standard these days.

 

Yeah, I also feel TFP is extremely overrated, and I feel that same way about TFA (again, I felt it was too fanservicey and a lot of the characters were either bland or irritating IMO). BW had some stuff that bothered me, but it was still well done overall, so I do feel like the hype is warranted in this case.

 

I liked The Last Knight fairly well. It was too muddled though.
