In the cartoons defense, my comics had some doozies too. Car wash of doom, Optimus as a video game, etc.

But it's not 2D at all, it's just cel-shaded 3D. Also the way they move is just awkward, with a cheap-looking low framerate that is attempting, and failing, to replicate cel animation.

I would love another 2D animated show with decent quality.

Starscream is so desperate for power he will claim it if Megatron is asleep hahaha.
Yeah which is funny when people demand scale accuracy when scaling was always off in the sunbow cartoon.
Bluestreak's weapon is a living battery charger!

the animation is a style guide. to that end, they've been killing it with these toys. Focusing solely on having an animation accurate bot mode is how we ended up with MP Bumblebee 2.0 and his backpack...and foot packs.

Difference is the G1 Dinobot models were some of the closest to matching the toys of any season 1 characters. Giving Slag more normal proportions (if his legs really are as stunted as they appear) is not a thing that would require massive compromises elsewhere (ie backpacks, fake parts, etc).

I'll go out on a limb and say the effectiveness of the scene has less to do with the animation method and more with the direction and editing.

The difference for me would be that it's affordable for the size. I would like a poseable and transformable Wheelie to go with Grimlock, but the aftermarket prices are too much. I'd be perfectly happy if they rereleased that same Wheelie at the original price point

    - Snarl's sword shoots blaster fire
    - Grimlock gun has rocket launchers built-in
    - Devastator switches his shades on and off
    - We still need a Titan (or Commander) of that Halonix Maximus 394px-Heavymetalwar_giant_autobot.jpg

Have a light come out of the toy hound weapon shining on the wall, then on the wall have a projecter shining a picture of this Hologram guy where Hounds light is shining and make it look like Hound is actually making a hologram of him. If done right it would look good.

Yeah, hoping for proper Deluxe Insecticons (especially Venom), not just repaints/moulds

Kind of wish this was the pack-in instead of Daniel.

Tbh,that was his most iconic scene in the movie and they had a Quintesson prosecutor figurine already made for the pit of judgment.

Seems like a missed easy slam dunk for Hasbro!

That's my feeling too! Pretty sure most people who didn't get the "Pit of Judgement" set would be against another opportunity to get this guy!

I can see why Wheelie came with Grimlock, but Daniel with Slag... why???? I'd prefer a sword, or just use the plastic allocated to Daniel to fill in gaps in Slag. Daniel is just getting tossed in the "spare accessories" box when I get Slag...

Can you imagine the original g1 dinobots release spread out over 3 years 86, 87 and 88? I would have gone from playing with transformers to shaving in that timeframe.
