I would like to jump in to this trailer discussion.
It's not about the length of trailer, it's about the fun part of transformation.
DX9's transformation is fun, it's smart, it's block transformation and give you the "wow" because its cleverness.
I haven't handle XTB's trailer, but from what I read and watched, it's folding pieces, very long procedure, too many steps and very complicated, so removing the base mode few people want might help improve the transformation experience.

the wow factor of the dx9 trailer is when you are done with the transformation in either direction. "Wow! that looks bad!" :p

Yes, "ft" does stand for feet. Everyone says the Dx9 trailer is too long, but it's probably not 100' long!!

Is it really 15" or 17" or 13.6" long? I dunno and BBTS isn't helping me out much. I didn't want to guess the length as 14 3/8" and then be correct that it's really 15 1/8" long.

The Motormaster portion of the trailer is 16/100 = 16% of the overall trailer length and XTB's trailer is 77/84 = 91.667% as along as Dx9. And most basemodes are super ugly so maybe even the "engineering is paramount" and "matching all features of the original toy" factions of fandom will agree that they can be skipped on these combiners. Or maybe it is the car storage inside the main bot that causes the problem and Defensor won't have the issue. The basemode may be a safe option?

if you have to go that direction --- not as bad as the XTB trailer which transforms to a muscle guy with skinny legs, of course that is if you can transform it in the first place without knees broken.

Yeah opinion is always fine, also the fact is XTB will take tremendous effort and time to transform to the level that most owner would only do this once, while DX9 is much easy and simple to transform, I often watch tv and play with it.

In fact I think XTB just make its Mensor a statue will work as well, or just packaging it in combine mode and ship it out.

The one you can transform whilst watching TV with spaghetti arms. I think.

Been a long day at work so I might be confused.

    Computron?

So, we'll have Hot Spot, then we'll have Hot Spot's trailer, sold separately. And then separately from that will be Hot Spot's trailer accessory pack. Streetwise's trailer will be included in that accessory pack  o_O

Tbf the Menasor trailer wasn't hard, it was just long winded and took tiiiiiiiime. I'd imagine if you had the inclination and patience you could quite easily cut it down.

I also think alot of ppl miss transformed it at first until we got done decent videos because I don't have the complaints of instability or back lean. It's also not totally black and white that he's top heavy. Without shells, he's actually quite well proportioned but options are good I'm told, even if ppl do omit them from their argument to try and prove a point.

I'm kinda hoping Defensor has that same option to go 'shell-less' as I think he'll look better without them too, if he does indeed have them, with the evidence put forward.

would much rather see them go the Zeta route and do a torso/thighs piece instead of adding more needless complexity by adding a transforming trailer. I know some people want the "all in one" draw, MMC seems to be going that route, so there's options for everyone.

Nah, it should be Blades that has the trailer. Far more accurate to real life.

I think that half the difficulty with the transformation is that at one point the torso has to be a bunch of floppy, unsupported panels, and the other half the difficulty is that the figure is just so dang big. A big figure is hard to handle, and adds a layer of challenge even to things that would otherwise be straightforward. A big figure could be designed to be stable and supported at every step of the transformation (the DX9 trailer seems to be pretty close to this), and then its large size wouldn't be an obstacle when transforming. A small figure can afford to have some steps when it's floppy, because you can probably support it with one hand while transforming it with the other. XTB's trailer is so big that even two hands aren't enough to support it at times, and it's floppy on top of that. I haven't been able to transform it without having to just lie it down on the desk or the floor, and I don't find that satisfying at all.

They must have alternate faces for First Aid to convey the full range of his emotions also. Anything less than 6 options would just be lazy.

The trailer was a mess to transform, lucky you that's he's not top heavy (you got gravestone in there?) And stable, but for the majority of us the trailer is a mess, I've still not been able to get him to hold his gun without the wrist giving out(it cannot be tightened anymore) and even if I do get the hand balanced with the arm out straight it slowly falls down one click of the rachet at a time till the arm is at his side, for what it cost and all the design delays it's s piece of grade A crap.
