Modelling fictional bad guys from real life bad guys is poor taste?

You guys, it's ok to make your bad guy toys act like Nazis! Comic books and cartoons do it all the time (See: Star Wars Empire, Marvel Hydra). Shockwave is a comic book and cartoon character. And he's evil.

I saw BBTS had solicited a price of $70. ShowZ still has it listed as unknown. That seemed awfully close to the MP price so I went back through my records.

Turns out I was half right. My original preorder at $180 in 2015 came down to $160 by the time it was released in 2016. The second copy from 2019 was on sale for $100.

So $70 for a 4-inch figure is a little tough to swallow. I'll have to wait to see what the overseas shops want but it seems like they're closely following BBTS on stuff I've been interested in lately.

I'm curious to see where NA's pricing lands on this since they've been creeping upwards lately. I wouldn't be surprised if even Show-Z and baba hover around $60 and TBH, that's too rich for my blood.

$54.98 from Terry TFS. He’s usually on par with showz. So that’s around $10 more than MS. Imo the paint job alone is worth $10 more, but it has the stand too. If MS do a metallic version it’ll be more than the standard.

 

If I recall he sat for some time too. The $100 was at BBTS but I think HLJ had him on sale a few times too. Once the toon shift started, the figures started to linger longer. Depending on your criteria, that shift starts anywhere between Ultra Magnus and Megatron. But I mean that's a horse that's been beaten to death.

Otherwise, in the same boat as you, not really willing to pay what NewAge and MagicSquare are asking for some of the newer stuff. They might pull me back in with more Autobot cars but it'll be a case-by-case basis.
