Keeping in mind that my personal reference is the toy and NOT the cartoon, I think I might buy both Skids and Reboost and do the following:

Swap windshield "arms" so that they match the color of the cars.
Swap the heads, but (assuming the faces are separate from the helmets) keep the Skids face with the Reboost helmet. Paint Skids's eyes yellow.
Swap the thighs and paint Reboost's (now blue) thighs silver, or else just paint Skids's original blue thighs silver.
Repaint Skids's upper arms black.
Repaint Skids's shin "inserts" black.
Repaint any remaining light blue on Skids to match the darker hue.

Or, if I get word prior to purchase that TT will issue a toy-deco "+" version of Skids, then I'll just buy Reboost and wait for the "+" version to go on sale.

 

I'm torn. I want Skids because he's Skids, but I want Reboost because he has the accessories and head that I like.

 

It looks like Reboost is a new character or at least a new name for the Diaclone version of the Skids mold.

I’m going through the same dilemma. Probably gonna go with Reboost and hope for a CHUG Skids more stylized like the toy.

Back to the fig and TT. It's almost guaranteed a marketing gimmick that's being paid for by Honda. The First Honda city came out 40 years ago this year. There's no way Honda didn't pay through the eyes for product integration like this. The only odd thing is that they didn't wait for the anniversary of the Turbo which debuted in 82. Hopefully we still see a Crosscut, but I'm happy with the Honda funded not Screech, and an MP skids that is a bit closer to the City Turbo personally.

 

Yeah but really that is where the figure is. Its a toy sculpt and toon paint job. I don't need all the sticker decos on the figure, but silver legs would be nice.

 

Every time I come back to this thread and hear about the MP 2.0, read about the toy deco, or see some new detail in the pics, I fall in love with this thing a little more, man. I'm planning to wait until a couple months after the release date, but I may have to rebudget instead. My MTMTE shelf is calling.

 

I’ve liked MP Skids since seeing the first line drawings. I admit that I was a little put off by the recent pictures with the two shades of blue but between then and now, I’ve come around to it. He looks good overall and I’ll be picking up both him and Reboost. They look like they’ll be fun to transform back and forth too.

I suppose my big question now is: Do I need to pre-order these in order to get them, or will supply/demand allow post-release purchase?

Reboost is a given for me at this point, but I would prefer to wait for news regarding a possible “+” version of Skids in a toy deco before committing. It would save me a lot of hassle with customization.
