Agreed. I have no real connection to it, so it's an easy pass for me. But there are a lot of awesome design elements to him to distinguish him enough from regular Scorponok.

Ya I have zero connection to Zarak, didn’t even know about him till adulthood haha.

Black and gold is slick though.

On a side note, I bought 2 scorps when I had a chance, and ended trading one straight across for a sealed omega, titan for a titan seems ok to me.

Got the neck connection stuck sloped downwards. Can’t for the life of me get it back up. Any tips?

I was just popping the head on, didn’t think I was being that forceful ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Afraid I’ll have to pry the torso open in order to get leverage on the piece

How well does it hold the DNA gun, is the 5mm peg the main connection?

Scorponok holds the gun well. The primary connection point is the 5mm peg. The claws only loosely grip the gun.

What about the fold down handle? Is it useful, or not needed?

Not needed for Scorponok. It's pre-molding for Fortress Max molds, even though the gun nowhere resembles his blaster.

When handling did it ever feel like the 5mm peg might break off of the gun, inside the port? That’s the main thing I worry about since the peg is much smaller than the gun and that gun is huge.

The plastic is pretty durable, so it doesn't feel that way. The peg on this one is solid. I had a DNA peg snap before but that one was hollow.

I asked this in the Omega thread, so I’m interest of fairness I’ll ask here. Trying to decide between this guy or Omega Supreme for my five year old and his three year old sister for Xmas. They like both characters. I liked that Omega seemed to have more play modes but it seems like Scorp is pretty loved in this thread. I also remember playing with the original Scorp when I was their age so I now may be leaning this way but if you all could only have one - which one? Specifically for playability.

Well, scorpy is a lot heavier than Omega (over a pound heavier), so that's definitely something to consider when letting kids younger than the suggested age play with them. I'd be genuinely worried about the 3 year old getting bruised if she dropped scorpy on herself.
While scorpy's robot and scorpion modes are definitely tons of fun, they don't lend well to shared play. If they already have other TFs to play with them, then it could work, but Omega has countdown, plus the tank and missile in base mode. That's definitely a share-friendly play style.
Also, as much as I love this guy, his head falls off rather easily, as does his neck guard. For an adult collector, not a big deal, but it's gonna be a problem for kids.
I'd say, all in all he's probably the 2nd least kid friendly titan (with Ft Max being the least, and Trypticon or the Ark being the most kid friendly)
    Hope that helps.

Omega Supreme has the advantage that you don't risk having an headless bot if a tiny piece is lost but due to the transformation scheme I think it might be more at risk of being broken.
For playability, Scorponok has three modes and the scorpion mode is really fun, but as Cataraks said the fact that Omega splits into multiple components makes him easier to be shared between your kids.
Do you already have other titan class or comparable figures? Because I'm concerned that they might be too hard to handle for kids so young, especially the 3 years old.
