I'm actually okay with Bumblebee. Yes, he's the ultimate shellformer but, if they can't transform, this is a really awesome workaround. I'd like to see more food toys made that way, actually, in lieu of actual transformation.

God what a waste of plastic. If I got my kid one of those he would think he was being punished. Dollar Tree has better versions. Yuck.

Fair point. The transformation is more like an Actionmaster with a Pretender shell, now that I think of it.

Did Hasbro make some sort of decree Transformers promotional toys are not allowed to transform or something? Makes me wish McDonalds did their own original promos like McChangeables or something.

I think you can blame the Karens and control freaks who attacked fast food restaurants for years trying to get them to raise prices and remove toys from their kids meals for the quality of toys now days. They blamed fast food for their kids being fat, while they sit on their butts playing on their phones all day not exercising at all. Not as many places have kids toys as they used to now. They are not willing to invest in improving toys because it isn't worth the hassle anymore if idiots are going to blame them for enticing kids to eat fast food with nice toys.

You want better toys, change the culture and tell people to stop blaming a restaurant for problems they created themselves. Otherwise they will start to make problems that affect you and everyone.

A restaurant is only as good as it's workers, looks like you need to find a better area to eat at or move where people actually care about their job. I've never gotten sick from McDonalds food, but know the ones to avoid because the workers suck and screwed up the food.

They filed some sort of patent or something that basically said only they can produce transforming figures. Hence why all the movie figs and such are static gimmick figures.

I remember reading a more detailed explanation here but for the life of me I can't remember what thread it was.

Man I miss the Changeables. Wouldn't even care if they were in the same vein as those anniversary figures, just wish they'd bring back that concept.

Unfortunately, that doesn't hold water because the figures are produced by Hasbro themselves. I think it's more about part count, cost and marketing research (i.e. 3-year-old kids at McDonald's want action figures that shoot large projectiles versus ones that change into crappy cars and jets).

An actionmaster with a pretender shell is pretty sweet, actually. This is not a great version of the concept but I could dig a transformer that feels like it wandered in from some forgotten series.

It's not a question of 'where' or 'who prepares what', it's about eating shit. Plain and simple.

Most 'fast food' is shit, but I'm getting off topic.

These are called Transformers. They should You know, Transform.

I think the cardboard-limbed Wendy's "toys" from a few years back were slightly better.

Even if they had no articulation, they had that unique expression changing gimmick. even if they didn't transform either...

Hasbro doesn't make the happy meal toys. All happy meal toys are made by The Marketing Store. Parts count and cost do play a factor though. Look at the Hot Wheels promos. We used to get mainline cars with die cast. That's not feasible anymore and we end up with those gimmick based plastic cars.

Honestly, the Bumbleebee one is a clever workaround to Hasbro's "Non-Transforming" clause. It at least TRIES to incorporate the transforming part of Transformers.
