The eternal question with ShowZ. I have both Grassor and Guttur paid off for a decent amount below current MSRP, so we'll see. I'm also waiting for them to drop the hammer on me when FT Outrider finally comes out. I have him fully paid off at the sub-$100 mark.

ShowZ's rep here told me they don't raise PO prices but as Virtus taught us that isn't true at all. They even raised the price for those of us who paid him off early, still got a nice discount but that ended up costing me $50 extra.

 

They sent me an invoice for that original 148 price so you're probably good.

 

Mmm so they could still send me a second invoice? I don't think that will happen.

Otherwise I'll probably cancel.

 

They've never went against the original preorder price for my orders. For example, I preordered Toyworld Freedom Leader at the initial price when it was announced. The preorders sold out and the second batch was announced at a higher price. Everyone who preordered at the initial preorder price paid that. Same situation with Studio Cell Unicron and a bunch of other figures. They'll honor the locked in preorder price.

That there are so many options between the chrome and metallic figures, the blue or red Swoop and the red head for Slag really make this set a catch-all for me.

Since getting the notification to pay the balance for Grassor, has anyone had it move to orders? With him being labeled as in stock now, I was expecting to see it move to my orders getting ready to ship.

 

I haven't seen any movement since I paid my balance, but are you sure he's in stock? When I check their site, it still says [Incoming], which means it's not technically a pre-order anymore but they're still waiting for the shipment from Gigapower's factory or distributor.

 

Honestly I wasn't sure about that with the [Incoming] label. It's a little misleading to have a section titled "In Stock" but not actually have it in stock. I was hoping it would move a little quicker with it almost 2 weeks ago we were notified and we paid.

 

From what their staff told me, the 'incoming' label simply means that the factory has requested that they pay for their entire order as it is going to be shipped imminently. But it definitely didn't sound like it was something they already had on hand when I spoke to them several days ago.

 

Yeah this set has hold up well. There's a reason why there's a steady demand for these guys.

 

The Grassor delay is from the factory, but I noticed today that the Badcube Sideswipe I paid for a week ago didn't ship yet. I remember ShowZ being faster than this.

 

My last order took 11 days before showing they shipped and the pick up scan was on the 12th day. When I got the updated info I was hoping to see it already moving and it just took a while to update the order but no, it really took that long. No worries, they are reputable, but it would be nice to see things move a bit quicker.

 

I've been really curious to see what the final price on Giga's Swoop will be over at ShowZ, but I am expecting it to be about $170. If that is close, the total for all 5 of these figures at ShowZ will come out to about $925. Meanwhile, you could also go to TF Source and get them for about $1,170.

With the way that TF Source forces up the secondary market and amplifies the late-tax in the event that you take the wait-and-see approach with a release, I've basically just hit a point to where if I am even on the fence about something, I buy it from ShowZ and then will just sell it later in the event that I don't want it... and I barely even have to worry about eating the cost of shipping, because TF Source will just sell everything at a markup on their EBay account, which further sets the market here.

 

They have the red one in stock at $159. Will they up the price over color?

 

I don’t know if they will or won’t, but my guess is that they charge based on what they had to pay to acquire them, so since that last red copy is from the original release(s), I assumed that they paid less for it than they will for the new reissue coming.

To get the $170 price I estimated, I just that they’d charge 85% of what TF Source is charging for him, because that’s fairly in-line with the price differences on Snarl.

But it could be cheaper because they’re only charging about 75% of what TF Source wants for Sludge.

 

I currently have Gaudenter PO'd at both ShowZ and TFSource (only keeping one). TFSource lists him at $199.99 and ShowZ is a big fat question mark at the moment. My internal struggle is if ShowZ has him for a considerably better price, like $170 as @Christiano is estimating, is that worth the 2 months wait?

Everything you say makes sense. I have noticed with a lot of these Chinese sellers price seems to fluctuate with no rhyme or reason even when they are running low on stock from the same batch, the price creeps up as they sell more and more having few left. That's kind of a secondary market, private party scalper move so even if the Gaudenter red they have is from an old batch, if nothing is really different they could just up the price. I know its wishful thinking that the new ones would be priced the same because of the current stock's price.
