I'd love Swoop to come with Prof Moris and Sludge to come with Joy Meadows (if they aren't in the SS line of course) but they probably won't because that's not Sunbow.

    I don't think
G1 Sludge has ever been actual brontosaurus size, at least in the cartoon. Unless he is modelled on an adolescent or another smaller species entirely which just resembles a brontosaurus. Aside from Swoop they've always been around the same size.

That's not to say I wouldn't mind a larger Sludge.

I guess their present day origins in the TV show would account for their differences with real dinosaurs. (I.e they're alt forms are hardly disguises but weapons, so they need not accurately resemble real dinosaurs.) The Marvel origins, not so much, although I prefer that story.

I don't think we would be that lucky. We will have to wait another year and 5 swords will be part of another accessory pack. But at least they will exist.

If you think of the Transformers is humans from another dimension whose technology allowed them to make their conscience and the power that drives it immortal.

Even after physical destruction of their body they return to the Well of Sparks, can be Transferred with the Allspark and can be communicated with the Matrix, but after combining their conscience into the greater being Primus, they gradually forgot their origin and only know that they are.

Havent gone through the entire thread, so apologies if it was mentioned ...

But given the trend of each Dinobot coming with a human/bot accessory, who would the remaining Dinobots come with?

    Spike
    Generic Quintesson prosecutor
    Sharkticon (beast mode)
    Arbulus
    Generic Junkion

    I'm grasping at straws here.

I might get him just to pair with my MP Grimlock. Yeah, he'll be a little short in bot mode, but my Grimmie needs some friends

... it's a kid's toy, though. Like, this attitude that everything has to be for collectors is just weird.

If there are all supposed to be cartoon likeness i don't recall the five having swords, in fact I seem to only remember Snarl having a sword, although my mind could be playing tricks.

If Blaster comes out in Generations instead of this SS 86 line, he should come with a Giant Kremzeek! That one that all the little Kremzeeks formed into at the end of that one episode. If it's too big to do that, then Build-a-Figure Giant Kremzeek parts in boxes of random characters!

Iirc, Optimus had the creation matrix which would then take the bots from automatons to sentient. Big story arc from issue 5 through 12ish including Jetfires introduction.

You are correct. Although Snarl used his Sword as a laser gun which was quite odd. I wonder which weapon they will choose for his toy?

Slag looks so good in this pic! Can't wait to get him. My only hope for the dinobots is a do over of Selects Red Swoop (yes, I know the main release will be blue).

So basically the Matrix first appeared and was thought up in Issue #5 of the Marvel Comics and created life? Then made it's way into the cartoon via the movie?

Thanks! I'm going to have to look through my G1 Comics and read issues 5-12 again, it has been a long time.

Slag (and Snarl) being slightly shorter than Grimlock feels right to me. Also, I've gotta admit, the robot mode proportions look much better to me here than in first few photos. I'm fully on board for this guy now.

Yes, far too narrow. Forget the bot legs; the rear dino legs seem too small overall. I wondered why no one seemed to mention this yet. It drew my attention immediately.

That said, I'm gonna get him, slap some black paint on his head, and be thrilled I finally have a Leader-class CHUG version of my co-favorite Transformer. Honestly never thought that day would come.

And then I'll buy the (hopefully inevitable) toy deco release.
