Scale chart aside, I always imagined the Dinobots as being roughly the same size, so this is perfect for me. Just can't wait for the rest of the team to show up. Of course, after that, Hasbro will do toy colors versions, which means another round of Dinos...

I'm fine with keeping them non-combining.

Just as I would have preferred the Ark to be non-transforming. But I'm getting that, too, so, oh well.

Did they just release a retooled Volcanicus a month ago?

Wait, a thought occurs: we are getting the full team, right? Because Snarl was missing for most of the movie.

I think I’m in the same boat. I did get a Grimlock finally. I like him, but some of the proportions are a bit derp. I’m actually feeling better about Slag here. He’s not perfect, but the sizes of these guys will be fun to see on the shelf in dino mode...where they will likely remain.

G1 Slag is truly a thing of beauty - all the Dinobots are cool, but there's something about Slag: the bigger head really highlights the details under the translucent plastic, his colors are really well balanced between the Red/Grey/Gold Silver... he just looks great.

I know the molds are "lost" but I'm astonished HasTak hasn't found the idea of reverse engineering the Dinos for re-issues lucrative enough to take on, that seems like a set of molds they'd love to be able to roll out every 5 years or so like Prime (not to mention G2 and Diaclone versions....) – would have made too much sense back when AoE/TLK were hitting...

I picked up a Grimlock recently, too, mainly because of the prospect of a team. I don't know, compared to the MP I had years ago, this version of Grimlock seems better proportioned to me. A nice, chunky toy Grimlock is.

I'm not getting my hopes up until I have the fifth one in hand.

But I will buy however many they make.

It’s almost as if people are so upset that it never occurs to them that getting such a giant Slag at all is a miracle in and of itself.

A Dinobot going from Deluxe to Leader in the span of 4-5 years doesn't sound like a small feat.

Oh no! He's a centimeter off because the squiggles were wavy and weird that one frame, God they were so close.
It's a general retail, mass produced figure that is primarily sold in the children's toy isles. Lord forbid his leg be a little chunky. I don't see anyone saying the POTP Slag is better, and it is getting some comparisons to 3P MP figures. I think this guy did his job.

He’s a fun toy, and I really like the dino mode. I don’t dislike the bot mode, I think I just expected something a little leaner or more athletic. Truth be told, I’m looking forward to Sludge, Swoop and Snarl the most.

Also just throwing this out there but maybe they want a little distance from the Bayverse in Studio Series before the next movie comes out in 2022. This year there’s a lot of Bumblebee movie (which is a departure from the other live action movies) and 86 movie in Studio series with maybe 1 or 2 Bayverse figures. Probably a good way to transition to what we’ll see in the next movie.

No slots were wasted. They were open slots without toys to fill them when the new live action movie got delayed from 2021 to 2022.

Man, seems like it would look great if they could shrink the upper bod a little, he'd fit better next to Grimlock and his legs wouldn't so dwarfy
