Just watched the video and damn. It’s clever. Looks sturdy too. MS has it’s scary thin arm that the gun barrel connects to.

Amazing indeed... It's fun how it's going to be the best Shockwave ever, better than any Masterpiece. Legends class has incredible engineering these days.

I like this figure. Upper body looks great and I like the barrel going into the chest transformation. Hope the long arm attached to the barrel is as unbreakable as MS's. The purple light is better than the MS yellow light.
What I don't like are the lower legs... They somehow look too massive for the figure and I really don't like the claw feet, not my cup of tea.
And why does NA keep using those ring fists for hands...
All in all, a nice looking Shockwave, but glad I pre-ordered MS Spock :D

Yes, this figure is giving me the same vibes as their seeker mold. Their seeker mold is my favorite seeker mold.

Yep I totally agree that they miss labeled the toy homage release just like they did with Prowl.

I don’t know the lower legs are superior to the magic square version that you look like the animation model. What’s wrong with a traditional closed item holding fist? The magic square relaxed item holding hands always look awkward to me. That’s not how you hold a weapon.

Having the barrel sit in the chest, and no extra part needed to form the purple backpack is a stroke of genius!
Can't believe TT didn't come up with that for the Masterpiece.

This guy looks really good! Although I'd have preferred the center of his chest being slightly less angular. But that's a very minor nitpick.

I love it when NewAge flexes on the competition like this.

only thing i really dislike is NA went with similar dead light piping just like MS did. which is a surprise given i don't believe they used light piping in any of their prev figures. :p

oh well, i got my yellow paint ready. ;)

I will likely continue my recent trend of buying MS for one variant and NA for another. I ordered the MS version earlier this week before the new NA reveals and I'm still interested enough to order a dark purple or the gray Galactic Man. Pretty happy with this "compromise" approach as I don't really want multiple color variants; at least the different design/engineering justifies it in my mind as a different figure.

I say that but I did triple-dip on MS Soundwave and doubled on NA Soundwave. But I mean c'mon that's Soundwave!

I can see why some people may not like the legs/feet, but I think this might just be the most toon accurate G1 Shockwave of any scale and price point.

Oh yeah; I'll be buying both, as I usually do with NewAge and Magic Square releases, with certain exceptions (didn't do the MS seekers or Reflectors).

Newage states in comments that robot mode is 10.2cm tall. I don't know if that's been previously stated, but I know it's a point of concern for mix and matchers.

That's still about the size of the MS seekers. Taller would be good, but I think I can live with that next to my MS Decepticons.
