Minor/Repaint: Mods: Bee Movie Optimus Prime (SS-38, Voyager)

    Hello all!

    My new favorite desk figure has been this engineering marvel - SS-38 Bumblebee Movie, Voyager Optimus Prime.

    Here are some of the features of this custom:

    - Newly shaped feet with added 3/16in. heel height (toe and heel fodder from FoC Optimus Deluxe)
    - Added sculpting to inner thighs for added Bulk and screen accuracy
    - Cut and reshaped head antennas and sides of head for more accurate silhouette
    - Cut and reshaped blaster to match on-screen model (rotated back of rifle 180 and moved handle closer to back edge; angled and lengthened magazine; extended rear scope)

    Thanks! Mine never had a hard time standing once I coated all the tabs holding the lower legs together with Super Glue (only use the Original, btw - it bonds well to POM plastic which most of those panels are made of.)

    I did the feet modifications because I didn't like the look of the original feet. I wanted them to have more shape to them. The additional benefit is more upward tilt to the foot now.

    that transformation gif really puts into perspective the engineering of the figure. the figure seemingly impossibly explodes into parts and reforms into a humanoid robot despite us all knowing exactly how that figure transforms. its not even all that complicated but when you do every step at once like this it just seems impossible. great job on the stop motion btw!

    It's seriously incredible. It legit looks like an on-screen movie transformation. The skill in making that gif is noteworthy too.

    Also, that's a great foot mod. I might do something like it.

    bringing this back from the dead to ask a question: is there any way you can post how you did the head/antenna mod? It looks really subtle but it looks great. I'd love to see how much more screen accurate SS-38 can be with a few tweaks here and there. I've also done a "toe" mod inspired from this post so I really have to thank you for that!!
