Alright gonna state my opinions as I always do: The Ark still looks phenomenal. I just hope it's a properly huge titan, really anticipating comparison pics on this one. Teletraan one surprisingly scales with deluxes, so that's great news to me. It's also interesting that they\'re straight up calling the bot mode "Mainframe". I guess it's not an homage anymore. Dracodon is a bit disappointing. The bright green is interesting but I was hoping it would be a new mold. Still, no big deal. Scorponok looks better to me now. I really like the disparity between the slim scorpion and the bulky robot. Galvatron continues to look basically perfect. I can't really think of anything I would change. Tracks looks good, but a little kibble. I actually think the alt mode is better on this one, but I'm glad to have a new Tracks regardless. Wingfinger is unique. This is the most interesting fossilizer to me so far. Not much to say, but I'll probably get it. Rhinox looks good. I need proper comparisons to know which one would be better for my collection, because right now the T30 and Kingdom have different strengths and weaknesses. If the legs are stable I'll probably get the Kingdom. Triconius is kinda cool. I like the crazier fossilizer decos. Not much else to say. I might get him. I also don't have much to say about that Optimus. The engineering is insane and it looks really cool. That doesn't make me want to own it though. I'm curious if this will be a success for Hasbro. The general consensus seems to be that nobody can afford it.
Some considerations. The Ark looks like is going to be a bit small in vehicle mode next to Fortress Maximus and Trypticon. This will make it easier to display but might disappoint people who wanted a huge spaceship. I was surprised to see that Teletraan 1 is actually a triple changer, wonder what the third mode represents. Core Siubdwave looks beautiful. Wingfinger looks really cool. So far I am very pleased with the fossilizers and I'm definitely going to buy this too and try the combined mode. The $700 Optimus is most likely something I won't buy..but makes me really wonder about what toys we will have ten years from now.
I agree with you two on this as well. I do hope someone will sell the Golden Disks from the Autobot Ark set separately someday (on the forums or otherwise)...I'll have to keep an eye out for that when the time comes.
Ark I want and Commander Rodiums. I would so not pay 700 dollars for that self transforming Optimus Prime that is just crazy.
Did everything in kingdom wave 3 waiting for preorders of the Soundwave and radioactive dino so I\'m assuming wave 4 is tigatron? since tarantulas and terrorsaur are exclusives
Unless the Rhinox has a wildly cool transformation, probably good with T30. Tracks looks terrific though.
Fossilizer official combined mode is what got me pumped more than anything from this show. We all suspected they’d be able to do this but it’s nice to see Wingfinger include an actual gestalt head. Tricranius looks good and would probably look fantastic combined with Transmutate and a suitably 90s themed redeco of Wingfinger. I don’t like the inclusion of $10 of blast effects now we know they eat paint, I feel like this would have been a great place to do some of the missing weapons for the Beast Wars cast and maybe the golden disks too? Core Soundwave looks great and does a hell of a lot for $10, Dracodon is an easy sell of a good mold and the deco is working for me after seeing it described as radioactive. Galvatron and Scorponok look great, really looking forward to those two. Galvatron is basically everything I could want out of a modern Galvatron figure. Everything else was pretty meh to me. No interest in the Ark outside of the golden disks but I’m sure a 3P will cover me on that front. Only thing that changed my opinion was commander Rodimus. I dunno if it’s seeing the trailer actually doing stuff or that incredible packaging art but I’m looking a lot more attentively than I was before. Might end up picking him up afterall.
I've got no attachment to the previous SG stuff, never read the fiction, but if the other 4 figures are as good as Blurr and the previous Selects 2 pack then I might be all in
Okay caught up with the video. Loving that alt-transforming Optimus! I can’t justify buying it at that price (don’t get me wrong, considering all it does, the price is probably about right), but it’s an amazing thing. I think my purchases for this wave will be Galvatron and Rodimus. Scorponok and Rhinox are maybes, leaning towards positive. Tracks looks nice, by the way. Arms not connecting to the side of the car in flying mode bothers me a bit, but when you’ve got two out of three modes done well, maybe I shouldn’t be picky. I have MP Road Rage, and I couldn’t get her arms to connect properly for fly-mode either, and that one is supposed to! (Probably my fault to be fair.) He’s another maybe. I like the Ark, but do I £150 like it? (Actually I often find ordering from the States may work out cheaper here, and for Rodimus. If UK customs don’t hit me with tax. Sometimes they do, sometimes not.... actually last few times not. Maybe they’re less strict in their checking since Covid situation.) As I’ll have an Earthrise Scorponok on the way soon, I will pass on this for now. Edit: I forgot to mention, I really like the paint job of Shattered Glass Blur. I’m not into SG, or repaints of characters I have already in general* so I won’t be getting him, but he looks great. *I mean the same characters rather than repaints as other characters. I am reluctant to get them, either, but I’ve mellowed on that somewhat. (COUGH! Nemesis. COUGH! Seekers!)
A lot of really cool reveals, but by far the best is the fact that Peter Cullen finally got to voice Optimus Prime again for the first time since the Bumblebee film.
that’s just something like the Unicron trilogy and Aligned Universe that just went past me. It’s a cool idea, it’s a smart way to reuse molds and I might get Goldbug depending how he looks but it’s not something I’m invested in like the regular G1 stuff and JG1stuff. The Core figures are looking good and my Prime Core figure scales great with my Titan Class figures. I hope they keep those going. it doesn’t sound like sales are great though. I thought they would interact more with the Ark but that doesn’t seem to be the case. that sold me on them. I was also getting jealous all the freaky skeleton warriors people have been building here. I hope they stick with weaponizer/modulator figures in the future. I love the mix and matches.
Okay, but will preorders open up at 5pm for other websites like Amazon or Target? I'd like a preorder that has a July release date anyway.
In terms of customs they tend to notice the big packages. Others might go through unnoticed but the big parcels get noted and the ark will get noticed. I got hit with the vintage collection falcon but that packaging was so big it was never not going to be noticed
What are you talking about? This one much more captures his bulk and heft, T30 is too scrawny and wasp-waisted, plus those thin and brittle 2014 plastics. I'm glad to never have to go back to that thing.
