Figured out an easy stand solution. Just put some holes in a cylindrical, plastic vase.

If you made a second one out of a red translucent vase, you could maybe pose crony looking down, and then suspend a tiny megs, galvy and whoever else in the vase like in the movie. With Unicron's light on, it could light up in the dark, prolly look super tippy haha

You guys are really tempting me to get the larger wings for planet mode alone... hmmmm.

Okay fiiinee. That's what I'm hoping is that I get really surprised at how much better it could be in hand.
Also, it's nice knowing I have wings that are less at risk of cracking.

 

They are also far easier to transform. Not as tight of a fit trying to plug them into planet mode.

 

I was thinking of making a stand like this for planet mode but could also double for bot mode. Maybe interchangeable arms/hooks(?). The cradle would conform better of course than what I sketched here.

 

It would make it possible to place figures and such under him which is a cool idea. You would be increasing the space needed behind the display though, and it would need to be pretty strong with those sorts of angles in the stands.
Having a stand for robot mode so he can easily be displayed flying/floating would be dope though either way.

 

Metal would be ideal or better yet, acrylic. Wood is probably more realistic as far as my capabilities, then paint it black. Maybe make the hooks/cradle out of heavy gauge clothes hanger.

 

I have an old dual monitor mount that could probably be repurposed for something like this...
