Hasbro says Convert because they want, really badly, for you to think of alien robots from the planet cybertron that convert to another thing when you hear Transformers, not just a toy that turns from a robot to another thing. If the term gets used generically enough they could lose a copyright case and suddenly Walmart is selling dollar store transformers next to actual Transformers. Mom can't tell the difference. It devalues the brand, Disney and Sony have "Transformers" movies (ala Robin Hood, public domain cartoons), a fake Transformer has lead in it, kills a kid, dogs and cats sleeping together, anarchy... To curtail this, they have spent literal decades using the verb convert. Hasbro has had like 99.992% of the trans- uh, converting robot toy market for 25 years. They're still doing it. They're going to forever. See also: toys named things like Autobot Jazz. I'm sure this idea was part of the conversation when Google rejiggered their structure and made Alphabet a thing. Google is totally a generic term for internet search at this point, but nobody has pushed it. Probably because Google has Google money for lawyers, obvy.

They flat out said at the outset the TF panel would be W3 Kingdom and Shattered Glass so I'm not sure why anyone is surprised they didn't reveal any Amazon/Target exclusives. Especially as part of their *PULSE* fan event.
That about half of this entire war of Cybertron line. Inferno? Seekers? Trailbreaker? They took a lot of the same molds, updated it with more modern technology, and sometimes made them bigger.
Alternatively, Transmutate is a Maximal and I believe so is Tricranius so you can build a Maximal version.

Scorponok is growing on me. Still not wild about the purple claws or their shape, but he's way better than the 0 Scorponoks I currently have. Beast mode is insanely impressive! Rhinox looks very good - killer, evil looking beast mode. I feel the T30 face sculpt is better, but again - way better than the 0 Rhinox I currently have, and much more affordable than T30. Galvatron looks great, really everything does. Definitely getting Core Soundwave.

Do you realise every FFF was also called a Hasbro Pulse event? And that the Autobot Clones from GO were revealed at Pulsecon?

If you want to argue semantics, fine. But they still opened the whole day specifically saying this would be W3 and SG. Hell, they even came back after the panel and specifically said "Studio Series in May."
