I haven't checked mine super recently, but I remember when this started happening to other people's figures mine was fine. I got it when it first came out and he's been stored in a plastic box with other figures most of the time since.

I keep mine in a shelf away from direct sunlight, somebody in this thread recommended using some spray lacquer like Tamiya TS-79 to seal it and prevent the yellowing, haven't tried myself, might buy some and try in some other figure first to check how glossy it is.

The skirt, heels and inner shoulder joint on mine have yellowed slightly; tried using a tamiya clear coat on a small section and it turned a dark yellow-brown

fortunately I found a paint that was the same shade of blue and painted over; hide shadow looks good as new now

Nice. What color/brand? Might be good to know in case mine ever goes south.

I wonder, would Future Floor Polish help prevent the discoloration?

I second this, I was planning to paint mine and redo the decals and I am also curious what colors one might use. I have a decent selection of Navy and Air Force aircraft acrylics.

Same here, also wondering which paint matches. Thank you so much in advance. Might be a nice weekend project to paint it. :)

If you take a quick look at my previous posts, you can see what I did for mine. Rattle can dull coat will give it the perfect military grey, and even out most if not all the discoloration. It worked on mine, but you need to be careful as these are the techniques that worked for me and what I was hoping to achieve.

In my experience, a very tiny portion of those people actually give a shit about intellectual property, they just like snuggling up to other people in positions of prestige and wealth.

You kind of touched on this, but the market seems much more shaped by price-fixing, market manipulation, cooperation among retailers, an aftermarket largely set by sellers with half-a-dozen Ebay accounts, etc. And depending on where you live, that sort of thing is supposed to also be seen as unethical, but I rarely hear the people who feign concern over the alleged theft of IP from a company they don't even work for ever even mention that side of it.

The easiest 'moral high-ground' to claim is the one that doesn't actually need you to fight for it.

Best bet would probably be to build one out of Lego. It wouldn't cost more than the original one that you posted a link for with the added bonus that it won't break because it's not made out of clear plastic plus you can reconfigure it as you want since Lego works the way it does. Just a thought

I don't have any lego bricks but that is a legitimate great idea you had.

Sorry for the delay, life’s been hectic I’m afraid!

I’d read somewhere that the Humbrol enamel Satin 165 was the correct colour for the actual Pav low helicopter but it’s too light for Hide Shadow.

Instead I used the Tamiya color Ocean Gray II (RAF) on the skirt and calf kibble that had begun to yellow; took some photos as I went so judge for yourself on the effectiveness but for me it’s a great!

This is just after I started work on the top of the skirt.

this is where only the outer skirt has been painted.

And a full body shot of a restored Hide Shadow after I repainted all the yellowing areas.

Just in case here’s the paint I used:

I seem to recall there were a few people still trying to track one of these down sometime last year. It would appear that @dew found some old stock somewhere and has it listed for sale, along with a few other WJ figures. No idea how many, and it does feel a little expensive (I don't remember what I paid for mine so maybe it isn't), but it's certainly an option.

    You are being redirected...

Hi thalyn, thank you for sharing! I was one of those who was looking for this big boy. The Price on dew toy store is not bad (it´s the best you can find at the moment) but the shipping costs are crazy high (the shipping costs more than the figure!) so the end price is too high than what I want to spend for this OSKO. Thanks anyway, I´ll keep hoping for a real MPM Blackout!

Dang... I really don't know what happened with his shipping (though I'm guessing COVID is most of it) but it's gone up a lot in recent times. Between that and DHL changing their "last mile" carrier locally (hardly his fault) to one that's rubbed me the wrong way too much with just a single delivery, it's getting harder and harder to support his shop. But I'm still trying, 'cause he's never done my wrong so far.

    Good luck in your search.

Good pic I took of mine. Finding a good pose for this big guy is tough since you have very little to work with.
