Just like the title says :)  Personally, I'd have to say 1/18 at the moment. Hard to say how I'd feel if I had more of the listed scales. I'm waiting for a 1/6 that looks pretty awesome (from the Inu and Saru line), and I have one 1/12 scale. Oh, and a few 1/28 :D :p

    KEEP IT RESPECTFUL.

If you would have asked me this question a decade ago I'd have said 1/18th but now ....

EASILY 1/60 to 1/72 (Dianaut scale).

1/3x scale (@2") is a close second. Very close.

1/12-10 (6-7") all the way from Hasbro to Mattel to Neca and McFarlane I have almost nothing but 1-12 figures on my shelf. Only Lego and Transformers diff from my typical displays

1/12 for me...I’m spoilt by the vast number of franchises that adhere to scale. Example, Marvel Legends, DCUC, Star Wars Black Series. I know this sounds crazy but as a kid, I always wanted to have crossovers between the different er, “realities”.

From there, MOTUC and Thundercats can be a bit bigger as they’re fantasy based...of sorts.

Tbh I don’t mind the 4 inch scale but only Star Wars and Joes were successful.

Now if only someone can produce a high end 12 inch kaiju line with Gojira, King Ghidorah and Kong...I can die happily.

since my OBITSU 26cm. -bodied Anime dolls are poseable enough to easily qualify as "Action Figures" i'd have to say 1/6 scale...

    Favorite Scale???

'Glances around at the eclectic number of action figures and construction sets displayed currently'

How cute, but favorite scales do not exist. Now granted I will collect more of one thing over another, and currently I'm in the 1/12th range purely due to the fact 3 3/4inch Star Wars is the only action figure brand in that scale I am 'actively' collecting on a regular basis, but I enjoy all types of action figure lines and scales. I mean, growing up in the late 80s to the 90s we had a plethora of scales to choose from and there was no reason Leonardo couldn't hang with G.I.Joe on the playground just because the turtle towered over the human.

And since Transformers is the bulk of my collecting and their relative scale is all over the map, I do not have a single favorite scale. In fact I'm branching out into 1/6th this year with a few... 'ahem'... items which piqued my curiosity.

@Tasuke ummm, why is the skin tone so different between the limbs and the torso? She looks like she's slowly turning into a zombie. Or a corpse, take your pick. Not that it's a bad thing mind you, just curious to note such a distinct difference between flesh tones.

For the majority of my life, I would have said 1:18th by a mile. But for the last decade, it's been 1:12th b/c all the major lines have switched to 6" figures, and they look great on the shelf.

My second place nod would go to 1:32 Mega Bloks/Construx figures, as I've obsessively been customizing hundreds of Call of Duty, Halo, and Destiny figures into tiny GIJoe characters and doing custom brick builds of Joe and Cobra vehicles, which has been a hell of a lot of fun.

slight tonal inconsistencies between the hard-plastic limbs and soft vinyl torso, i suppose?

these bodies are available in both natural and pale skintones.
perhaps the differences are just that slight, and natural arms found their way onto a pale torso?

i never honestly noticed that before, thanks for pointing it out. i'll have to look into it...

I swear by the 1:18 scale, but most of my favorite lines are 1:12. There is just too little good 1:18 lines nowadays that are affordable.

1:12 or 6-inch has been the gold standard for me. The only non-transforming line I was really into before Marvel Legends was the old Hasbro WWF line. But now I've got so much stuff in that scale - Legends, DCSH/DCUC/DCM, Jakks WWF, Star Wars Black, Classified, etc.

1/12 definitely. Other than my Transformers and a couple of figures almost all my collection is 1/12

Dunno what all that means? Standard-sized, 5-8 inches is just fine with me. But I'm not picky.

1/12th for me too. I loved 1/18th, but modern inflation raising both the prices of those and of to scale vehicles nixed a lot of the appeal that size had for me.

Acid Rain may be my favorite line at the moment, but yeah - the prices are up there

    1/18 = ~ 4''
    1/12 = 6 ~ 7"
    1/6 = ~ 12"

Basically, take 72" (or six feet) and divide that by whatever number is after the forward slash to get the scale. The important part is that you like what you like - and judging from the photos you post, you are :)

1/12 for action figures but every toy company has their own idea of how big 1/12 is and just fucks up the scaling.

as a kid that grew up in the 80s, I'm saddened to see that the M.A.S.K. 1/24th scale doesn't have representation on the poll... :(

Granted their vehicles were based on 1/24 model kits that were gutted & replaced with engineering for their various gimmicks, thereby making their figures slightly larger than a 1/24th scale. But that said, that engineering allowed the vehicles to ditch the masquerade of illusion and convert their vehicles.

My resurgence in collecting Transformers was when I first saw MPP10 and that it was 1/24th scale and matched well with M.A.S.K.'s Rhino truck... and then I found out that the original plan for MP (or at least w/ MP01) was to be in 1/24th scale... So fast forward, to a few years ago, I picked up various Binaltech, Alternators, and Human Alliance figures to have a scale to bring all those 80s brand stars into alignment... Didn't hurt that Marvel was also releasing some 5POA ~2.5" figures that I picked up around that time too.

Most recently, was pleased with the JoyToy and/or B2Five releases in 1/27, 1/28, & 1/25th scales... since they all come close enough to 2.5" - 3" figures that held my nostalgic attention during my pre-teen years in the 80s (before the N.E.S. came out). Unfortunate that the recent Jada Toys for 1/24 scale vehicles have figures that lack any type of articulation, otherwise they'd be a home run in my book.

For TFs and most other robots that turn into terrestrial vehicles, I’d have to say somewhere around where MPs typically scale...so maybe 1/35-ish?? I know the scales vary from character to character.

For humanoids, I’d say 1/12. It provides a good mix of sturdiness, articulation, detail and displayability.
