Honestly, I don't quite understand this logic. On the one hand, yes, unofficial third parties only survive due to the support of TF fans. On the other hand, MMC is taking such a huge business risk with Eris. There are a lot of possible outcomes to account for, good and bad, given that Eris is "technically" a completely new character based loosely off two characters (Esmeral and Tarn) that have never seen a mass retail (official, first party) release. Ergo, MMC, as a profit-driven company beholden to NO ONE, should prioritize minimizing loss. I don't find it "shitty" at all for MMC to release Eris-Kultur through their direct website (planetsteelexpress.com) as a means to gauge consumer interest. And for those who are intent on getting this figure, it looks like the plan worked to MMC's benefit. I know I'm not getting bummed out at the moment, as I preordered along with X amount of others.

Damn she’s huge. I’m kinda glad I passed now, I don’t know where I’d put her.

If she had better proportions (ie smaller crotch and cleaner abdomen, generally closer to the art), I’d still be upset that I missed the preorder, but I’m less bothered now.

I’m still frustrated by this current trend of preorders selling out nearly immediately for all companies, though. Sometimes I want to see the figure in hand before I buy it. I hate being forced to order something for fear of missing out.

Translation: "I got what I wanted, so fuck those who could not get it if they wanted to since the store doesn't sell to them."

I mean, if it's about minimizing the risk, they wouldn't be investing in molds for something that literally no one was explicitly asking for - a completely new character based on Tumblr robot fetish fantasies.

You seem rather proficient in English, so I suppose I won't need to translate the following to another language for you. Here is PSX's statement on shipping items internationally:
    upload_2021-4-8_11-21-53.png

I am based in the USA. I waited 4 days before I decided to preorder this figure (once the preorder became an option on the PSX site). In all likelihood, this is MMC testing the water to determine whether it would be feasible for them to mass release Eris-Kultur...JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH MMC CYNICUS. Unless, of course, you somehow have a crystal ball and can see well into the future. And as the old saying goes, "The early bird gets the worm." Otherwise, I really don't see any logic in people griping about "exclusivity" with no intention of actually getting such "exclusive" figures.

I also fail to understand your logic ("I mean, if it's about minimizing the risk, they wouldn't be investing in molds for something that literally no one was explicitly asking for[.]"), but that's neither here nor there. It's like saying, "Well if it's about minimizing risk, no one would be making unlicensed IDW figures." Or, "Well if it's about minimizing risk, no one would be making hydrogen powered cars." Or rather, "Well if it's about minimizing risk, no one would be selling cellular phones in the '80s."

Risk is part and parcel in ANY business endeavor. NOTE that I did NOT say "eliminate risk." It's about minimizing risk. Unless, of course, English is not your primary language and you would like me to define the difference between "minimizing risk" and "eliminating risk"?

Anyhow, you do you I suppose?

It's exclusive to PSX for now, since they don't know the demand for the product. If there's more demand for it, they'll eventually have other retailers in.

I wanted to pick this up, but PSX doesn't ship to my country. Hopefully this encourages them to do a wider release.

If you get into something like that, you might want to have a friend buy and ship it over to you. Of course, it'll cost you more. Unfortunately, that's a restriction with your country's customs processes. Sorry to hear that.

Trust me, they DO NOT ship to all international locations. That statement is a lie. I tested it again just a few days ago (unrelated to this item). Try my country and go through the checkout procedure. This is why I can never enjoy the free shipping or the free bonus items, which MMC only includes for their own store. But since Hasbro also hates all of Europe except the UK, it's not like MMC has to be an exception.

Also, I find it amusing how you are feeling the need to explain things to me, but, having lived in the US, I am not in the least bit surprised.

Think of it as a convention exclusive for now. Not everybody is able to go to a convention. I do hope it gets a more wider release for those, like you, that weren't able to get in on PSX.

Them not being able to ship to your country sucks, but I mean, maybe they just couldn't afford that shipping or haven't been able to include shipping there in their services. It sucks, but its not really a "shitty move" unless you know they dislike your country or something lol.
If it's the limited copies and exclusivity, that exists in so many ways and for many different reasons others have cited. There used to be many TFcon exclusives and other event exclusives that you either had to attend to get, or get the small batches that got to retailers in a handful of cases.
That's a bummer, but it's part of their sales tactics that are coupled with driving up demand while not spending over a certain amount to make a larger batch. Being MMC though, it's not like some mega corporation. I remember when the mini Nintendos and such were all very limited. That's way more of a shitty move because it was more likely they could make more, but used the exclusive thing really to just make people crazy about getting one and as early as possible. Same with Hasbro and their Target exclusives. If hasbro can churn out thousands of shelf warming BBs, they don't have a manufacturing problem with making other figures more widely accessible.
But MMC is small potatoes compared to those guys.

But hey, it still sucks missing out on stuff, I know the feeling. I hope there is a re release for those who missed out.

I might be the minority in this, but I’m not overly fond of the Esmeral homage with the extra eyes or whatever on top. Kinda wish it was a normal head with one set of eyes. Subsequently, I would’ve preferred the mask to have the visor like the concept art. Still looks cool overall though

Sold out in like 3 days.

If I had made up my mind to pre-order 10 minutes earlier I wouldn't have woken up to it being sold out and now being at a higher price.

Dude that was literally me a while ago when trying to PO Kitzconcept's Cheongsam Ver. Minmei from Robotech. Thankfully BBTS restocked pre-orders on her a bit later and then I got mine in. Crossing my fingers that the same happens for Eris, haha.
