Okay, so there you go...For example this frosted canopy could be one reason why Takara could have a change to release MP-52+ SS. If TC and SW will have frosted color, why not Starscream also?
No Maketoys, lol? I was going to sell my brand new MP-07 and went to eBay just to see what it was selling for...there were already several other listings. Guess I'm keeping it.
Good lord, I can hear this photo. "Watch it, you metallic mini-meatball or i'll step on ya!" Hahahaha
I don't think there is anything wrong with Skywarp's orange canopy in bot mode. After now seeing this I do kinda wish Starscream and Thundercracker get the same treatment. Heck, I'd love some more official TT attention to this whole crowd.
Oh yeah I have no problem with it as-is, I just want all three to be given the same treatment whether they make it clear or frosty. If Skywarp was the only one who had it frosty and the other had it clear, that'd just be an OCD nightmare for me, haha.
In the promo pictures it’s transparent in alt mode but opaque in bot mode. Anyone know what the final treatment will be? (Apologies if this has been discussed already)
Ha, I did have Maketoys Starscream (totally forgot about that). I sold MP-7 when there was still a demand for the figure. But haven’t been able to move MP-6. Well, at least MP-6 has the best jet mode IMO.
There are two canopies. The real one for alt mode and a faux one for bot mode. In bot mode the "real" one sits behind the faux one, and in alt mode the faux one is covered up by the underside of the jet. So in practice you can have a transparent one for alt mode and a painted look for bot mode as they've done on the prototype here.
I don't like the idea of a painted canopy, I want it to be clear plastic or clear plastic over painted plastic.
Toy dojo? I believe they usually have FANSTOYS before any one else and they were the 1st state side retailer to have haslab unicron. Maybe it is the same with takara.
I would say that most of us want the very best version of each character and that’s why these moments are those moments when a collector thinks, that if i now buy this mould, will this be the best mould or will there be even better mould? Should i still pass this? And by saying those words ”these moments”, i mean when some figure is undeniably so precise that it is hard to say, how it could be any better and after when you have bought the figure, some company release even better version of the same character. It is frustrating. And to many of us it is a matter of money. And i know, that if i have been really wanting a certain character, there will come a time when i just have to make a decision. Like i wrote before, these things (figures) improve all the time. If you have been a collector for a long time, then you know what i mean. Sure, there is a different styles (For example this style -> Buy all new and nice figures and never sell anything away) to collect stuff/figures. It is great if someone has financial opportunity and enough space, but we all don’t have that. Unfortunately. Another collector who has less space might collect so that if there comes a better version, then sell the old one and buy the better version. And what comes to Maketoys seekers, i think some of us thought that Meteor/Lightning/Skycrow are the best seekers ever, but have changed the opinion of that after Takara released their versions. And now they have perhaps a little bit frustrating feeling. So, me saying that anything is possible doesn’t mean that i would never buy any figures from any company. I buy figures, but i consider carefully where i put my money. My english skills aren’t perfect, but i hope that you understood atleast a bit what i meant.
I see where you are coming from now, I took your first post in a different (incorrect) way...thanks for clarifying and my apologies!
