@ShowZStore has this listed as coming in June, but calling for a $10 deposit for a pre-order. Is that right? That's a pretty significant jump up from what they've done in the past, and appears to be a first with this guy. Cliffjumper's pre-order is only a $1 deposit.

Strange, cuz I paid a $2 pre-order deposit for Perceptor on April 4. I did notice he was labeled as sold out for a short period. Maybe ShowZ changed the deposit after that?

very weird, I paid $2 on the 4th too (paid remainder on the 7th when the full price was updated). I wonder why the $10? Maybe this is their new standard?

They seem to do it where they think there’s gonna be a lot of people just sitting on preorders but not buying them. Like they raised most of the FT pre-orders to be more like $10-15 because people would pre-order like 4 and not buy them at $1 I guess to avoid hoarding pre-orders

i already don't see the point of pre-ordering for the most part. but damn, a bump up now to $10 with no discount incentive???

He gets his stock really fast, and has a couple of shipping options available at checkout. Last time I ordered the faster method was free to US customers.

I get a ton of figures from him.

Never have myself, but I've seen plenty in our community swear by them like I would someone like HZJ401.

Yeah I hear ya. I've spent over $2000 with Hjz on ebay from 2019-2020 then last shipment in january he sent me my order of ms BB, mft tracks, ms Artfire and mft Hauler. The hauler arrived with a cracked arm at the peg. So I messaged them with pics before I touched it. When I moved it, it came off obviously, then the wheel next to it just broke off at the metal!!? His response was he could supply a replacement peg for $5 so I told him the peg was stuck inside that I'd need the section that holds the peg replaced. He said he couldn't and just stuck me with the broken figure. Ridiculous...

I offered to split the cost for a new hauler, or even make a $100 order on the spot if he'd help me out. And they refused. So basically I'm done with Hjz, no customer loyalty, didn't care if it was broken by him or during shipping. After spending $2k he sticks me over $20? they lost my business.. so hence why I end up looking elsewhere for my 3p legends winding up at TerrysTF

  wow, that's news to me. i've only used him a handful of times and i did have some good experience with replacement parts on a couple of MFT figures that broke. also have read RAVE reviews of how great his after sales support has been on these forums and comes highly recommended. that's a huge about face if he's that brutally in turning his back on you. really sorry to hear that he's become that way given his previous high praise reputation and that he stuck you with such poor customer service! :(

Yeah man I was really disappointed after how much I've bought off them and praised them on the boards. Even got my boy into legends and sent him there to buy, where he also racked up over $1k in figures.

This was the 2nd chance I gave them too. In December 2019, ordered 4 mft toon dinobots that were listed at $21.99 + $2 shipping for each, paid for it, then the next day they cancelled my order. So I went to go reorder and the prices had been changed to $23.99 + $4 shipping each! So I messaged them like what's up with cancelling my order and price hike? And he responded, I needed to change the prices higher, you can't expect me to lose money, I will send you bonus next order for your troubles.

After the frustration, I randomly decided to check the BST threads here and a member had the 4 I was looking for boxed for $15 each shipped free. So ultimately it worked out, and like I said I gave them a 2nd chance. Then the next big order I put in with them after the dinobots incident, the special bonus they sent me was a fake lego construction guy which got chucked in the garbage.

But I'm done with them regardless if I have to pay $5 extra a figure elsewhere. If dude is going to transform every figure to save on shipping, if one breaks he should take responsibility instead of just sticking me with a broken bot.

Good news is that Terry is really good with the after sales. I’ve already gotten one replacement part from him, and he’s tried to get a replacement head for MS Soundwave for me multiple times, and if MS doesn’t come through again he offered to take a head from his own stock.

Not to make this an hzj401 hate thread because I got a lot from him, but my last order arrived with broken bits from shipping. Hzj said the figure was out of production so I had to deal with it. It's fine, I've switched to just boxed items from stores now. Ebay's taxes and shipping costs now make Hzj's loose figures about the same price as boxed from online stores.

Can't wait for Perceptor though. Shockwave might sit in the box while he waits for more friends to arrive.

Thanks for the tip. I hate to hear a fellow collector getting stiffed like that, but it's a big help to the rest of us when you put the word out about bad business.

i dropped him off my preferred list once i got my last package mid last year and it came delivered with no protection/padding and was literally bubble wrapped and placed in a big plastic bag. i almost always buy with original box/packaging, and with him you paid extra for it both in price and shipping to have that. prior to that last order, there was cardboard/styrofoam added to help protect my boxed figure orders. but since this one had none, the original boxes were crushed and or creased badly. of course i reported this to him and when i asked why the change to no protection/padding, he says he now had to charge extra $2 to request more protection. i know extra cardboard/styrofoam wouldn't have guaranteed it arriving in perfect condition, but a little is at least better than none.

anyway, after that i saw no real benefit of buying from him as other retailers added protection without having to request it or charging more. also i was already finding his prices creeping up higher then competitive retailers on eBay.

in the end, he was willing to give me a replacement box for one figure free of charge, but wanted $2 for replacement box for another, and of course it would be shipped out with my next order. but i never did place another order with him since. :(

He gets stuff fast and ships way faster than showz. I've had things ship from both about the same time and his beat showz by a good week. He's my go to every time now.

Yeah, I feel like Showz and Terrys with their lack of sales tax and free shipping has been putting most legends figures a few bucks under the final cost of buying from hzj. I've ordered most of my legends figures in the past from hzj, so I'm not hating on the guy. It's ebay more than anything.
