Back in NoVA for a week. Man oh man did I miss the Virginia air. NYC COVID blues did me so wrong this last year: trapped in the five boroughs AND working in healthcare with direct patient contact. So happy I’m taking advantage of not needing to block a whole day out to use public transit to get to Walmart (Long Island, or worse, Jersey)

Fairfax Walmart - snagged one Zombie Barricade, one Cheetor, and one Deep Cover. One each of Cheetor and Zombiecon remain. I don’t care for the Quintesson Ironhide (got two Alicons at Tosche Station anyways)

Manassas Walmart - one each of Netflix Optimus and Soundwave with a TON of RED Megatrons, one SS Soundwave (ROTF)

Fair Lakes Target - nada

Fair Lakes Walmart - utter wasteland of sadness

Chantilly Target - Studio Series B127 and Dinos a plenty

Chantilly Walmart - a slightly less deep pit of sadness

Dulles Landing Walmart - one Netflix Optimus and Elita. LOADS of RED Cheetor and Arcee

Toche Station was a neat place to visit after it finally got its boots off the ground. A friend of mine was tapped to be the manager a long while ago but things fell apart. Socially awkward dude behind the counter but the woman who checked me out was great. Old stock is very overpriced from figures only about 3 years old. $100 for SS AOE Grimlock. $70 for POTP Hun-Grr. Decent selection of Gen Selects and some loose (though dubiously complete) older figures, plus some loose G1 originals and reissues

Victory Comics - how the mighty have fallen since I moved to Brooklyn. They want $65 for Earthrise leaders. $70 each for Kingdom Optimus and SS86 Grimlock. $70 for that gold SS deluxe Bumblebee and cassette set that may have been a Comic Con exclusive a few years back.

Side note: As someone trying to get back into Yugioh, Victory’s gaming section was quite lacking (though this is mostly on me just being a salty nerd for liking a game not so popular these days). Literally just MTG and dice with a TON of miniatures. Even their comics section seems much more lacking than I last remember. Friendly staff though

 

Toche Station has left a foul taste in my mouth. I bought a X-Transbots figure there a couple weeks back that was marked as new and the employee said was new. It was most definitely used. Some of the internal packaging was missing, the weapon was loose instead of in the bag with the rest of the accessories, and finger prints all over it. Someone that works there is a near tape application ninja. They have the same exact tape they use at the factory to seal the boxes but there was a slight bit of glue just outside the tape placement that gives it away. With my sunglasses on I did not spot it. The no returns only exchanges clause covers their back sides on this. It is not broken or damaged so I am not going to do anything about it. Will have to think hard whether I will patron them again.

I'm guessing so. I think the endcap ships with the deluxes already in it, but the case I saw there last night was standard.

Mechanicsville Walmart has ONE SET OF NETFLIX DELUXES LEFT!!! I took the other set. I also took the Magnus. There is one Beast Megs left. GO GO GO.

 

Wellll shiet, once again I'll say it totally down to pay for a Netlix Cheetor if anyone could nab a spare for me.

 

That's way too far for me to go on lunchbreak, but hopefully that means other stores will get them in soon.

Also I'm seeing reports that some stores are getting a normal case (of 8) and others are getting a big cardboard shipper, so hopefully they'll finally start showing up in RVA en masse.

Also yesterday I forgot to add that Target (short pump) had 2x of that new Bee movie starscream and some voyager hot rods.

 

Ashland Walmart has a couple of SS Hot Rod and BB Starscream, Netflix Soundwave and OP, and several of Warpath and his wave buddies. There was also the newest Star Wars Archive series. Looked like someone got the Shore Troopers but left everything else. There are still 5 Neca Splinter/Shredder sets in electronics.

 

Here's the sights at Manassas Target. Yes, that is the most recent wave of Studio Series. Yes that is BB Starscream. Left him there for anyone who wants him. Also fully stocked with Kingdom Wave 1 Deluxes and Wave 1&2 Cores.

 

Greenbrier PKWY Target has a few SS 72 Starscreams.

 

Roanoke area: Valley View and Clearbrook Walmarts both have the newest Netflix deluxe wave. All figures were available.

I'll be glad when the current round of Walmart exclusive BS is over. But I'm also apprehensive about the possibility that they're gonna announce a bunch more on Friday.
