Nah I had good seats and they still looked like metal dooky. :lolol  :lolol  Watching it on DVD didn't really help either.

I had a feeling some folks were gonna latch onto the fact he had bad seats, but that's kind of a cop-out. Obviously front row seats aren't great but that doesn't really change the fact that he's not wrong about what he's saying.

I watched Cloverfield in the front row. And I didn't have any problems seeing what was going on.
Same goes with the Tf's. But I suppose I'm one of the few that knows what I'm seeing on the screen.

Fair enough, I think that's a nice benefit we as TF fans have that more general audience members will struggle with. :p

I didn't like kong vs godzilla in any way shape or form, knowing that mechagodzilla is based of bayverse shockwave i can appreciate it

Btw 2014 godzilla was the best it didn't have any of that futuristic shit or bs underworld shit and every scene felt real and the cast was on point and acting was great, the cgi and camera work was amazing, that movie was fucking amazing just like the trailer, way way better than godzilla vs kong

I'd say he's right and wrong.

Didn't see GvK yet but I somehow knew MechaGodzilla was a part of the movie

Bit weirdly specific to compare to Zilla.
I don't know how it could be done better.

He wasn't that well hidden since he was seen in the first trailer.

I'm not sure I can take his word too seriously when he ends off the quote saying how he swears by the 1986 movie.

the irony of trying to avoid bland robot designs but literally looking like a terminator, the film did mechagodzilla dirty, i really wanted to see something like kiryu but with monsterverse godzilla's silhouette

This feels like an "apples and oranges" argument to me. A robotic clone of a god-like dinosaur compared to an alien shapeshifting robot?

The only traits that can be compared design-wise are the level of parts, and even that isn't much help as Mechagodzilla doesn't transform.

All Wingard has in his defense is visual recognizance, and with Transformers having had a history of different character designs that won't go too far either.

I’m sure it’s been discussed in the previous 54 pages, but why do you think the last two movies have more humanoid designs with little to no vehicle kibble? Do you like it? I think the designs are cool for robots but not really transformers. Like robotic armor, although I can see the argument that maybe their time on earth has made them become more humanoid, I still prefer the og designs from 2007

    • "I remember watching the third Transformers movie in the theater. It was one of those things where I was with a date, and we got there late, and the only seats that were available were literally in the front row. And so I'm sitting there watching Transformers 3 in the front row, and I couldn't tell what the hell was going on. The Transformers, they just looked like metal. They looked like a plane crash. So I thought, that's the thing I wanted to avoid. They were too complex. There are too many moving parts, and I couldn't latch on to anything. Nothing felt iconic with that Transformers design."

Finally one good thing from the Bayformers!

Ight he needs to chill just because his movie is getting good reviews and etc that doesnt mean karma will get him back but I do agree on some things he mentioned but he shouldnt get to cocky last thing he needs is a bad movie and the flops.

It's not exactly cocky to talk shit about terrible films to make his own look better, is it?

He is right, it's the truth. Bayformers should never be forgotten, it should be an example of what NOT to do with an adaptation.

Could still be improved but the added colo(u)rs really do a lot for this design:eek: :D

That's the big one (besides writing them as actual characters).
