See the thing is that a lot of these people don't even enjoy their figures anymore, they are more consumed with getting the other side to abandon their hobby.

Im excited for whatever comes from whichever company. If its not for me then its not for me. Case in point, i wanted so bad to get into the super7 thundercats. I picked a couple up off the afternarket to check em out and they(in ny opinion) are junk for the price. So they arent for me its disappointed but here we are anyway. I moved on and focused even more into transformers

These FansToys threads become confusing when I have to put half of the posters on ignore.

True. They are seriously not worth the money.

That Battle tank is great though.

We all need to focus on what matters. Hating the folx trying to pump and dump their Apache and Quietus figures before the reissue. Been seeing quite a few people trying to take someone for a ride before the prices dips due to an increase in availability. Special shoutout to weheartfigures on eBay that has the P.O.s they could lay hands on marked up to a very reasonable 400.00 each. Their seller page is like a love letter to fandom inflicting self-harm.

I might be wrong, but I feel like anyone that collects 3P has a mix of companies. The only people I can imagine being strictly one company would be TT people who stay away from 3P. Once you're into 3P there's too many companies and options to not dip around into everything.

Don't forget, some people from the official side would claim to collect FT/3P figures, but talk is cheap, and photographs mean nothing nowadays. The thing is they show such a deep contempt towards 3P figures, it's hard to believe their claim.

Edit: the simplest explanation is they don't own any 3P figures.

At the risk of asking today's stupidest question...why would anyone actually do that though?

I own these things so my opinion is valid and you should listen to me.

Edit: it's just a psychological game.

    Ebay:
I'd be lying if I didn't say that resale value comes into play for me, but it's usually as a safety net.

Two of the most impulsive purchases I made recently were for FT-29T and XTB's original Andras and I didn't mind paying a premium for them because if they didn't do it for me, I could move them again while avoiding a loss. But with another recent purchase - DX9's Terror - I really toggled back and forth for several months because I wasn't sure if I'd end up eating the shipping in the event that I didn't want to keep it.

Granted, I don't think I'll be moving any of them anytime soon, but it's a good example of how value is relative.
