The four eyes thing is because she was based off Deszaras's wife Esmeral, who like Deszaras and the Brestforce members, sports an animal helmet for their designs.

Yup. I didn't know about this character, so it was cool when it was spotted early on. Sadly, I'm rather disappointed in the official bio.

This easily could have been a "Tarn" of another reality. Where, for reasons, a different character becomes Tarn--complete with crazy reveal at the end being Esmeral. I'm sure a great story could be written around that. Then cross-dimensional-whateverthehells to get her in the MMC continuity.

But yeah, their way means easier repaints. So, I get it.

    Why not both :D .

Unless your saying Esmeral was shown to have a mimicking ability?

Unfortunately there's not much shown of her outside of the Victory manga waifu and the random Shatter Glass whale-savior.

Idk why they would make the figure the is going to be highly sought after a exclusive to a store I have never heard of instead of a wider release

    Fixed it

To answer your question though, PSX is owned by MMC. By releasing on their own site they have better control of the cost of the figure and much higher profit margins. If they have a distribution channel that is going to be large enough to move the copies that they printed, then they can get more per unit selling it directly instead of at wholesale to another toy company. This is the debut figure of a new line, and elseworlds style figures have tanked really hard for some other companies like Badcube. Direct to market distribution makes it much easier for them to hit a break even point. Hopefully the success of this figure means they'll be less skittish on the runs of future releases.

Yes I'm from the states and have been buying MMC product from Planet Steel express since MMC's knight morpher figures back in 2012. And it was around before that. That why when you order from PSX (MMC's store) they also put in exclusives like extra guns, hands, heads, etc.

I did the grunt work of isolating Eris from the newest side-by-side with Azalea (it's the best neutral + maskless image we have so far). Next comes the fun part of making some other colorways.

EDIT: Also looking at how the backpack bits are attached via those black joints under the armpits, I have a feeling you'll be able to configure them as big hip skirts...

This is why I decided to pass on the figure...I'm waiting on the remolds. I like Tarn, but I don't like Tarn enough to buy a female version of him. An Overlord/Carnifex-inspired Eris would make me extremely happy though.

I think you make a good point, but I'm also worried that they are limiting their audience a bit. To be fair, they did sell out of pre-orders, but that could also be because the initial run was quite limited. Since this is the start of a brand new sub-line for MMC, I really hope that they are successful and that this doesn't fizzle out the way Maketoys Cross Dimensions did (another sub-line that I absolutely love but apparently didn't do as well as Maketoys may have expected). I'm guessing that there is a sizable amount of collectors who only purchase from well-known domestic retailers, at least in the west, whether it's BBTS, TCP, TFSource, ToyDojo in the US or A3AU and others elsewhere.

Maybe just the initial run was supposed to be PSX exclusive? I know some other April 1 releases ended up being con exclusives, but those weren't meant to be the start of a brand new sub-line either. I hope that the fact that the initial run has sold out will give MMC more confidence to release a second batch with bigger numbers and hopefully make it available to more people.

Yeah, I absolutely share your concerns about having artificially limited their audience on this release. I really hope that they do another run on these now that it's clear they underestimated demand. I'm sure you're absolutely right that they left money on the table by not selling this one to distributors as well. Hopefully it's a conversation that they're currently having at MMC, and they're actively working on getting another wave out. As someone that'll never own Bedrock, I share the pain of anyone that missed out on this release.

Did this quickly, just to see what could have been the result if they opted for the og guns placement

Maybe extendable for tank mode could be a good alternative

Obviously they were removed because the figure would fail the Iron Man pose test with them.
