So with this being basically same scale (well close) as monolith, kronos, constructor, this presents a slight problem for me. In my mind defensor is bruticus' sparring buddy. my bruticus is the MMC one (who scales well with say CW devy which is great for the starscream's brigade fight...but i've no scaled mensaor to to delivery taht sucker punch lol). i couldn't get behind zetas combaticons for their individual bots/vehicles...ugh. maybe i do need to buy a zeta torso bot and get those adapters (tigerbalde mentions them often enough....ramsaiden was it?) so i can have bruticus at either size. lol. that being said i think i'll just end up with which set of protectobots are overall better regardless of combined size. if its xtbs's i guess i can just have him hang with kronos as a buddy instead of with assaultus as a sparring partner.

also does anyone know if xtb is planning on multiple decos? I kinda want streetwise in 2 decos and use him as the other leg because i can't get past a motorcycle being that large....unless he is large enough for one of the other members to ride (like you know the junkions).

Do it. Best looking Bruticus by a country mile imo but you'll need a Zeta Onslaught too.

You get correct sized combined mode and full cartoon aesthetic Combaticons in both individual and combined mode. Win/win if that's your cuppa tea.

the problem is you gotta get the first the zeta Onslaught and then paint the Bruticus thighs and chest gray or get the second or third versions of the box set that came out and find a way to sell off the limb bots to people without selling the Onslaught stuff. Sadly, Zeta doesn’t sell the Onslaught with the toon accurate Bruticus colors by itself.

Imo the metallic Zeta set gets you 90% of the way there in toon accuracy. The Brawl and Vortex are much improved. You just gotta paint up the Swindle, who’s gold in that set, to this

It looks like there is a filler piece to give the arms more length. if you just join the two halfs together you will end up with a really long van.
If you remove the piece with 'ERG' on it, as there is a noticable gap befor the first letter, and join it to the front, the van now looks normal length. The lower half of the front of the van looks like an extra panel to, possibly used to hold it on, so the 'EMERGE' lettering might be under this.
And also a comparison to length of Fuzz.

So, looks like the same chunks of car built into the arm mechanism as Mensasor? Hopefully not shells.

Probably not since the protectobots don’t have to be mp Carbot size. Plus having gigantic arms that are disproportionate to his body is kind of only menasor’s thing.

I agree... The size difference is non existent, anyone who says other wise is just nitpicking...I mean do all the combiners have to be the same height to the Centimeter...That’s just ridiculous as close is usually good enough

I think the reason xtb menasor seems so small next to the others is because aside from being slightly shorter he is also thinner. Look at the different in width of his legs compared to superion.

For now the closest Menasor to that scale is TransformMission. Ignoring other factors (such as the fact it is IDW instead of G1) it is only a little shorter, and the fact that it is mostly sports cars compared to construction equipment and military vehicles the smaller size works for some people. The size doesn't have to negatively affect his strength. Rumble always fought with larger characters for example.

I don't have a dog in this particular fight, but your coneheads are pretty clearly cheating. Bent-kneed A-stance is one of the first go-tos to make a figure that's too big not tower over smaller ones. I do the same thing with Feral Rex, Poseidon, and CW Combiners. Stand them up straight and they'll tower over your triple changers. Not that there's anything wrong with it - the display looks good, so why not?

But that brings up another point. XTB / DX9 Menasors, Zeta Bruticus and Superion, and Constructor are all close enough in height that anyone that cares to can make them look good together. Anyone saying otherwise either doesn't know what they're doing or just wants to argue. And who doesn't love a good argument lol.

MMC is something else though. They're too short to work with any of the other MP combiners, and too tall to work with the CHUGs. The only combiners they work well with are Hastak titans.

And possibly MP Raiden. Will be exciting to see where MP Combiners go once TT gets their first official one out. Maybe in 5 years we'll all have junked our Zeta Class combiners for whatever Takara Tomy says is the official. Because those MMC Perfection Series figures look good in a bot mode lineup (MMC Fraudo is far superior to Zeta Swindle).

Oh, and you're right that XTB Defensor and XTB Menasor fit nicely into the Zeta Combiner class. Not all identical height, but no way is one of them 3" too short.

The Zeta scale is cool, but with an "official" Takara Tomy combiner scale about to be revealed we may find future 3P combiners shrinking a little to be more like the MMC Assualtus. I'm not giving up my Zeta figures either (and I'd really like Zeta Superion to finally show up after waiting 2 months for ShowZ) and we likely have quite a bit of time before we:
    a. Get Raiden and find out how tall official TT Combiners will be.
    b. Get a second TT Combiner (like Devastator who cannot just be ignored) to make sure Raiden isn't a one-off trial.

Given that, I think there is plenty of time for XTB to get their Defensor out to market. I'll always make room for the Zeta/XTB/Dx9 crew on my shelf (will never be rich enough for a FT combiner and waiting for an improvement over TW Constructor).

TT's decision to make Raiden their first foray into MP combiners still seems like an odd choice. But, being a westerner I guess it doesn't have much of a sway on me. You would have thought they would have went right at the heart of it and built the Constructicons. I would think they would get more money out of them since it is a more widely known combiner. Unless they are starting with Raiden to get the kinks worked out. I know some people like the shorter combiners but I really hope they stay with the newer established heights and not go off the reservation. Oh well, just my plugged nickel's worth of an opinion.
