main selling point for me is I love “overengineering” like to a point where it makes the transformation unexpected and complex, but still really fun and intuitive

based on scrappers legs and just all of mixmaster ig these look exactly like what i like

and on top of that they make a super good looking, posable Devy

So with the recent switch of materials on their shockwave. Has anyone heard that they are doing the same with their Devastator?

I would expect that they use the same materials as Menasor. Not only does it allow for more vivid colors, but for combiners there is less concern about how malleable nylon is and how that affects the stability and sturdiness of the assembled figure.

Magic Square combiners (Menasor) have been about 2 for $50 on ShowZ. I'd assume Devastator would be about the same with the whole figure coming in at about $150. Any reason to think this logic is incorrect? I know there is no Motormaster for this set and really the MS Menasor will end up closer to $50+$50+$120 = $220 when all done. Maybe the $150 for Devy is too low?

NewAge figures have bene more like $55 to $65 each on ShowZ. No particular reason to say ShowZ, other than just wanting to compare apples to apples. Based on this I'd figure their Devy to be two figures for $100 and maybe $300 total.

I can't find any pricing on any of these sets beyond the Chinese sellers. Correction, I found all the Magic Square Menasor limbs on pre-order at BBTS for $40 each. But that doesn't much help for comparing to NewAge. Or is there even a NewAge Devy versus magic Square Devy thread I've missed? I'd really like to save some cash for the eventual MP Devastator, but both these figures look so good with only a couple minor niggles with each. At $300 I'm out, but a complete Legends Devy under $200 is tempting.

I reckon the total price will end up being similar to Menasor. All the extra parts needed to make Devastator are quite a lot of plastic. On top of that, the engineering and parts count on the individual Constructicons is way higher than the Stunticon limb bots. On par or surpassing Motormaster even. They also might all be as tall as Motormaster.

Yeah I agree with this. Not sure about importing but I know the limbot price for Dead End and Dragstrip got increased to $60, up from the $50 for the leg bots. I’d lean towards about $70+ price range for each pack. I don’t think it will be as expensive as Menasor though. Devastator doesn’t need an entire “skeleton” for combined mode.

Thirded. Each pair will no doubt come with combiner components, not to mention the probable alternate look bonus parts. I’d say probably closer to $70 a pair.

I wonder if in mid July, both NA and Magic Square will sell their first package at same time or is difficult.

I think that sounds like a reasonable expectation. Love seeing these guys going head to head.
Can't fucking wait for MS to starts releasing these guys.

    That Long Haul...

Classic proportions. Not like others such as CW LH with huge legs.

    Just perfection.

But How? they must really be using magic.
