This is where I'd make a joke about being infamous in replacement parts problems..but to be fair, I haven't abused a parts replacement service since last week... I mean when I went to the intermediary source for Bandai parts because a friend had a forehead sensor stolen by a brat, and I just so happened to request him a replacement v-crest he didn't need but I wanted for the same model.
...not my fault Bandai changed the 00Q's crest between its original release and the Full Saber.

What's the least expensive place to purchase the model kits?

 

It depends. Barnes & Noble will often have them eligible for discounts in online sales with a coupon offer. USA Gundam Store you can always use a 10% off coupon, either sent out in email notices OR using "reddit10now" which always seems to work.
I can't recommend going to Hobby Lobby because they have discontinued their freebie 40% off coupons but they will sometimes put model kits on sale at that rate.

 

Opened the Kuro Kara Kuri Optimus Prime. The figure is wonderful, as usual, but the leg joints are looser than I'd like. I tried some dynamic poses and he is still more stable than Drift, but I have some concerns on how he will hold up in the future.

Thundercracker was A LOT of fun to put together. I find the aesthetic and scale works pretty well with Gundam Universe too.

So I’m new to furai/kuro kurai stuff so I’m just gonna ask you guys for help. So from what I can understand, flame toys sells the model kit, and they own kuro kurai, which sells the preassembled figures. So I’m interested in getting shattered glass drift from bbtsTransformers Furai 19 Drift (Shattered Glass) Model Kit. I’m looking to get the model kit one, do you guys know how it’s different from the kuro kurai preassembled one? Does it have the same lighting feature and accessories?

 

The model kit is just like any gunpla kit. No lighting. The Flame toys site will show you exactly what you get in terms of accessories which I think is the big sword. I wouldn’t expect a 50$ kit to come with the stuff a $300 figure comes with.

I think you'll be happy with the model kit. I love how dynamic the regular Drift model is and this is just a recolor. Definitely enjoy!

Taking it easy on this (for now), I was sold on Megatron and having them in hand has made me appreciate the value a lot more. But as they’ve reissued Tarn I figure there’s a chance of reissue of the other few even if it’s years down the track. If not then I have to be ok with not collecting every figure  

What got you into the line and what have you picked up so far?

 

Got Tarn on a whim back in February - he’s the best of the bunch. Now I got everything plus the next 3 releases fully paid for.
