The seventh Transformers movie or the 7th Bay film even though there wasn't a sixth?

Literally how can you possibly know that from a single casting choice and the most basic of plot details? How in the world can you honestly claim to be able to extrapolate the quality of the end product from next to nothing? Give me an honest answer, I want to know how your insight works.

 

Oh, that guy who played that guy in Godzilla King of the Monsters a couple of years ago. Uh, neat, I guess.

 

They should just just do a live action TV show on Netflix.

At least that way it might force them think outside the box and maybe do something different in a 10 episode season, instead resorting to safe formulamatic 2 hour “witty human overcoming a personal dilemma with giant robot war as backdrop” plot?

 

Will this series turn into James Bond, with a new actor every few films?

This would make sense if this guy had directed a Transformers film before. There's no history to go off of here, especially since this is pretty much a reboot. It may be human-focused, but we really don't have anything to go off here to confirm that.

I actually had to read the whole thread because I wasn't entirely sure where all the negativity was coming from, and I think I understand now. I get it, the movies don't exactly have the most stellar track record as well as Hollywood in general, but personally I've always been more of an optimistic "I'll give it a chance before judging too harshly" type of person, that said I still like to try and hamper my expectations so if I am disappointed it's not too bad.

I don't really have any strong feelings towards this at all, I knew before long we'd get our first human cast member and this is him. Maybe I'm still missing something but I don't really see anything worrying yet, other than it being another TF film, and for that I'd like to remind people it took us like almost 20 years to get several really good X-Men films in a series of 10 or so.

Like TRUST Me, I've no qualms about voicing my concerns if I have them, but I don't really... have any right now, except the usual stuff.

 

Haven't hear of the actor before so don't have any expectations.
Hope he'll do a good job with the role  

 

It all depends on the script. Based on track record... this does not sound the best. But who knows....

 

Maybe it's a reboot live action version of Transformers: Prime that leads into a live action series. Like Avatar The Last Airbender reboot on Netflix is a live action version of the animated show.

 

I completely understand having negative sentiments after the previous films. That I don't mind. What irked me personally we're the baseless claims like the film will be human-focused when haven't heard any details to confirm that. It'd make more sense if these reactions were about a trailer or we had something that proved that. Who knows, the film might suck or it might not, but it's hard to say either way right now. Personally, I'm crossing my fingers we have something good on our hands.
