It's just visual effects to make the bot seem alive in the video. No official mp has light up eye features.

I thought for sure the Target price was to be $119.99. I forget where I saw that now, though...hopefully not in a dream.

BOOTLEGS LMAO those companies design the entire figures themselves, like all their BB OP. Some make copies, BUT better ones bcs Hasbro is not capable of making good enough figures. And assholes? The assholes here are Hasbro, who doesn't care to their fans. Their figures are all overpriced, and quality lacks many times. I mean, how would the chinese guys upgrade something that is already perfect? And well, those KO companies most times don't do anything amazing, they just give a good painting and fix stupid things Hasbro don't care. Like, MPM Starscream and Megatron? Are those figures painted?
And Hasbro is a fucking big company and those guys are being put in the shame for those China Men (and bruh, there are more and better MP level figures in "3P" market than in the own Hasbro. You just have to open Showz to see this)

    "hasbro is not capable of making good figures" while freaking out to defend a company re-releasing another company's product with alterations after the bulk of production costs and time was already spent by Hasbro while being able to avoid safety laws and testing is really really funny;

And as a consumer should I care? Just look to these MPM4 and LT02 bro. Painting. They put a fucking expensive price in the thing but they can't paint it!? C'mon, you are blinding yourself if you say Hasbro figures are good as they are. Their mpm line don't even have a decent scale, their Optimus and Ironhide are so small. There are reasons of why lots of people look for BA Prime like crazy and don't give a fuck to MPM4. We had like 4 great versions of BB Optimus and none of them had cat ears or windows on his arms, but Hasbro's does. You don't need much effort to see how people have disliked Hasbro's quality lately. Just read this thread. Simple. And btw: why do you have this hate with the chinese companies? The community loving them hurts you or something?

I get your point bro but I don't agree with "BUT better ones bcs Hasbro is not capable of making good enough figures". As we've seen, they can make great figures but are restricted by various things like safety laws and stuff.

I feel like MPM could be much better if given a bigger budget.

Although considering the complaints the G1 MP line gets for it's prices (minus Skids) and I've seen people mention how places like Target will have clearance sales for these guys as low as $40, I can see why they're given the lower budget.

I can understand that, but I don't think painting is limited by some of those things. Like, just see this MPM4 image I sent, look to MPM Megatron and Starscream. C'mon, painting them shouldn't be that hard

I believe Hasbro doesn't even care for their MPM line. I mean, what gives them that good money are the toys, SS line, not mpm. Those KO guys have been around there launching KOs little time after their MPMs for a good time and Hasbro just decided to do something when Disney did

That and more development time. Can’t help but feel that some of the issues I’ve had with mine could’ve easily been rectified prior to final production had there been more time in development. As good as Starscream and Ratchet(the most recent MPMs) turned out, there were still some issues I think could’ve easily been ironed out with more time.

Case in point, this MPM12(of course I don’t own it but using it as an example). Clearly work started based off of concepts and not the finalized design. Why not wait for finalized assets from the movie studio? Seems like this design was started early, postponed, then we still got the cat ears anyways.

Given that Kunihiro designed this I have some faith that this toy will have some appreciatable qualities in-hand. However it definitely could’ve been better.

Agreed, however, this guy definitely wasn't made with some kind of concept art or something, pretty much all of the detail of the model it's here, the execution, not so much....

I don't think anyone cares about how you spend your money other than yourself, and considering the fact that you are assuming I remotely care about the chinese companies making toys they want to make as if it affects me is weird and invested, don't be like that.

I just find it absolutely silly to claim Hasbro and Takara are bad at their job because people that grabbed their work and then tweaked it and released it only having to pay a fraction of the cost Hasbro themselves had to invest on those projects pleased you more. It is the equivalent of shitting on the original sketch an animator drew compared to the finalized clean-up that someone else did based on the bulk of their development and calling them a hack that hates the audience. You either have zero concept of how much work goes into those things or you are pretending that you are not aware just to throw shade.

On another note, unrelated but since you brought it up in the other post, "paint" is inherently "proof those fuckers DON'T CARE ABOUT US!!" even though we have had multiple MPs in the past like Star Saber where we had the actual designer flat out telling us they were focusing on unpainted plastic construction because they wanted the figure to be played it properly without paint rubbing off during handling or transformation. Considering the MPM line is based on an ongoing movie series instead of nostalgia figures precious to 40 year old adults it is very much likely that a similar choice on playability was made, so it's once again, weird to try to make a call and act like their work is garbage just because of a personal bias. You're behaving exactly the same as the member that made you upset in the first place when he shat on the chinese companies.

With such amazing talent, you would think they’d come up with their own characters instead of committing IP theft.

You talk like if it would make money. MAINLY, you talk like if it would be good for us. I mean, see figures like Dragoon, Challenger, Lockdown and many others. Without the chinese companies we wouldn't have those Masterpieces, and there you are hating on them with no fucking sense and defending HASBRO!!? Really? And what they do with IP hurt you btw? Bcs you look so pissed with such a stupid thing. They don't even hurt Hasbro, the only ones who do that are KO companies. And it isn't like Hasbro was a poor company who's been destroyed by 3P, their strong thing isn't even MP figures.

    Wouldn't sell as well.

Besides, they make what people want that HasTak either wont or can't make, so they will always stay around.

Let’s keep things specific to MPM-12, there’s already plenty of other official Vs 3p threads out there to debate in elsewhere
