False. Move the shoulder outward in a half T pose, then rotate the elbow 90 degrees. Bam

With his entire shoulder covering his head from being able to see anything. Again, terrible design.

    Really???
Look at your avatar. Where does the cannon end? Not down by his feet.
(also, I'm not your buddy, guy.)

    Hasbro should be more careful.
Unless the pics I've seen are just prototypes that thing is a trash can looking abomination.

Dude I have trouble remembering if I tied my shoes correctly. Not all of us have the skills or time necessary to do that. This is a lay up easy remold.

Is it out of the realm of possibility that the spoiler could rotate?

The cannon doesn’t end by his feet on the Kingdom toy, either. It stops halfway up his lower leg. Higher with the shoulders “correctly” rotated up.

Y’know, maybe it’s just been the years suffering the internet and it’s vernacular, but me seeing anyone use the term “abomination” to describe a toy makes them look so silly.

Holy fuck...I had no idea that’s what the animators had in mind(bottom right pose) for shoulders out posing. There is a way that the shoulders could articulate better, may still be awkward but not as awkward as THAT... wow

The shoulders could been on a sliding rail that slides into the torso at full extension while the shoulders pivot outwards. However that would’ve probably taken away space necessary for the matrix chamber gimmick. Or the joint itself could’ve been designed to pivot where the wheel meets the upper shoulder with the tops of the shoulders staying vertical. However that still would’ve looked weird and may cause another chain reaction of necessarily redesigned parts to enable it.

Not to mention all the gaps necessary would’ve probably looked ugly as hell.

You know what guys, I just thought of something.

Rather than Roddy sliding further backward to hide the extra wheel, what if his rear wheel can be folded inward to hide it?

It won't fix the pipe problem(?) but it'll make him looks like he's having 6 wheels instead of 8.

That's also something I'm pointing out. There are many possibilities. Rodimus could even transform and insert into the trailer g1 toy style with the hopefully sliding spoiler, and then we have a better alt mode.

Again not saying the current one is bad. I'm fine if this is what we get. But one can theorize

Ah because the hinge is visibly in front of the trailer connector in one pic, and visibly 3/4ths of a centimeter hidden behind the trailer connector

it's honestly not though. it's the way the toy was angled when the camera went off and the light from the lamp hit it just right.

But hey you don't gotta take my word for it. when you get it in your hands you'll see. for yourself as we all will. :thumb

Anyone else think the face looks a little too old? I know he's supposed to look older than Hot Rod who was more immature and youthful, but he kind of looks like an old man here with how sunken his face is. It's been throwing me off a lot when I look at him.

It isn't just the perspective, the joint is honestly out further in one pic than the other.

Here, let me borrow Dinbot Snarl's images from this post

Note the length of the blue line, which is the arm pipe hinge. Compare it to the green line, which is the length of arm pipe between the hinge and the trailer pipe. The car is definitely slid in further in the second picture.

I think it's more so they can use the trailer as a trailer. If you look at most recent pictures you can see that it opens at the back with a ramp, and is large enough to house deluxe cars. (Like Optimus Prime uses to do before the trailer became smaller with ER edition).

If Rodimus slid under further that space would be taken up. That's if you want Rod to be the full Hotrod on steroids vehicle in his own right without the trailer. Obviously if he were just a cab with minimal back part like the G1 then you could push him back further and have the full usable trailer, but then your making another sacrifice.

This way the sacrifice we make is G1 aesthetic but the payoff is more playability, features and options.

It reminds me more of Energon Rodimus more than G1 Rodimus.
