There's a reason why I think the LoLTomino dance works with "You're Welcome!"

    giphy.gif

I mean, there is a verse of the song that says "What can I say, except "We're dead soon.."

On Topic, looking forward to seeing GvK tonight if HBO Max doesn't go "pants on head" crazy again. I was trying to watch something with my parents the other night and it kept kicking us out due to service lag.

Add HBO to my Amazon Prime, but I don't see Godzilla vs Kong yet. Everything I could find said the channel was the same as HBO max. Going to be pissed if it doesn't get added.

For me, Amazon HBO is just HBO, but I can log into the HBO Max app with my Amazon credentials. I was subscribing before they automatically gave me HBO max though.

No additional charges for HBO max same-day-as-theater movies. They're just on there for 1 month.

When attempting to sign in, make sure you select "sign in through a TV or mobile provider", and then "Prime video channels". Then put in your password.

Sooo.... Honeymoon phase aside... I nigh loved everything about this movie. I loved the fact that I could catch it before work, yet still have plenty of time afterwards, without feeling like I was rushed. It’s a very tight and lazer focused film, and the little bit of downtime that is there is still interesting enough to have held my attention. The human cast reminded me a lot of Skull Island’s: Colorful, entertaining, if a bit hollow (pun intended?) when it came to a few of them. The cinematography was absolutely stellar, A+ work, with everything being vibrant and colorful without ever resorting to filters; it’s super crisp.

As for Godzilla and Kong themselves... Jesus did they do a perfect job with both of them. Kong was incredibly well humanized, and you felt his emotions and what he was thinking, even when there wasn’t any dialogue nor characters helping out. I genuinely felt sympathetic for the giant ape Titan
when Godzilla was tearing his ass up, and left him for dead at the end of the Hong Kong fight.

Godzilla was a goddamn force of nature, a vengeful, yet misunderstood god who wasn’t taking shit from anyone here. He’s scary intelligent, and chock full of personality. There are plenty of moments where I was just gawking at how perfectly framed his shots were. Plenty of close ups on both of the Titans, but Godzilla in particular was shot in ways that we’ve never seen before in the MV. Just like Kong, it was very easy to tell what he was thinking and feeling, those beautiful eyes and amazing facial expressions doing great work for the big G.

The fight scenes were chef’s kiss good, and there were barely, barely any cut aways to the human cast. When there were, they lasted for a few seconds, before the movie shoved the main stars right back in your face.

If it feels like I’m gushing, it’s because I am, lol. I’m genuinely not trying to sound biased, but right now, and likely every time that I watch GvK, there really won’t be anything that necessarily bugs me. It’s not a perfect movie, but damn if it isn’t a great one, and whatever flaws that are present are incredibly minute for me. Which makes me happy, because it’s doing so damn well for itself in terms of numbers, reviews, RT aggregates, etc. The future is bright for the Monsterverse, which is good, because with what this movie personally brings to the table, there is a lot more that they can do, and places they can go.

Oh, and the beginning... I, in a thousand years was not expecting that... At all. It was a good start, definitely gave me a nice giggle.

We watched King Kong vs Godzilla last night to get ready for the new one tonight. Just pure entertainment all around. Love Tako too. One of my favorite human characters from the Godzilla series.

"For the most part, this movie had been a better time if I were drunk (Yeah, but the monsters fighting were cool!)"

    "B"

Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 80% - "Delivering squarely on its title, Godzilla vs. Kong swats away character development and human drama to deliver all the spectacle you'd expect from giant monsters slugging it out."
Metacritic Score: 62 out of 100

    I'm surprised Stuckman gave it a B. I don't think he's rated any non-arthouse film anything higher than a C in like 4 years.

Just finished watching the film on HBO Max. We've been waiting years for a rematch of two of cinema's most iconic monsters of all time and boy was the wait worth it! Aside from some minor character depth it really does build upon what was established in the Monsterverse along with giving both Godzilla and Kong their own awesome moments to shine. :D

Really enjoyed it thought it was great. 8/10

I only give it a 8/10 because of the human villains and the subplot with team Godzilla besides that, I liked everything else Godzilla awesome Adam Wingard said in an interview he likes Godzilla atomic breath a lot, and in this movie, it shows Godzilla looks beautiful he is always glowing matches up well with the neon city It is more of a Kong flick but it never felt one-sided between the two. Has awesome fights also great CGI. I didn't dislike the humans to be fair I didn't mind the humans in KOTM either. I didn't mind the runtime didn't need to be very long. It's shorter than I expected but didn't bother me.

I like the team Kong crew also liked the hollow earth but wished we saw more creatures besides the ones we saw. I don't want to add a spoiler but I don't like how they handled Ren Serizawa that's all I say he feels very minor same with his boss.

Overall watched it twice plan to watch a couple more times before April 30 really fun movie. But As a native to Florida, the best part of this movie is Godzilla finally coming to Florida setting up the events of Godzilla vs Florida Man

...I'm gonna watch this a few more times before re-watching the existing 4 films in the series from the start.

Seeing it in less than 2 hours!!! I can't even tell you all how excited I am, and in IMAX too!

    My mom has zero clue
    MechaGodzilla
is in the film and I know she's gonna flip when she sees it because she's a diehard Godzilla fan like me!

I know absolutely nothing outside of the official first trailer and I stopped watching TV spots two weeks ago. It's gonna be a BLAST!!!
