just delivered 2 days ago, been working 12hr shifts, today is my 1st day off, finally got to unbox him and did some photo ops. His trailer works very well with Siege deluxe vehicles.






i filed the rear trailer pegs as show @ 7:37 to get them to plug in more securely.

 

also turned his head around. I removed the top screw but couldn't get the face and back of the head apart. So I also removed the bottom screw from the neck. Then put a flat head screwdriver in and pried the 2 pieces apart gently.

They work fine, I think the only issue was some people found them a little loose. Nothing Kiki or a little floor polish won't fix. Don't expect the giant fuck off cannon to work though, iirc it has problems tabbing in to the hands.

 

GOT HIM! The conquest is finally over. HE's friggin magnificent. The Biggest single figure in my collection.

Where can I get a raised (or plastic) Autobot insignia to put on Hyper Magnum's shoulder? I'd rather not use a sticker.

Thx, @Dexter601! It's a Master Grade Gundam GP02A Physalis. I am actually gonna rebuild that with a better custom head, better paint, stronger joints. No wheels, as he he doesn't transform. I've also made Optimus Prime out of a RX-178 Gundam Mk. II, Sky Lynx from a Wing Gundam Zero Custom and a Samurai Superion out of a Master Grade G Gundam. This was all about 20 years ago...

 

Planning on getting this guy, any cons I should be aware of?? All reviews I've seen look awesome, but would like to hear it from people who have owned the figure for a while.

 

I've only transformed him a few times, no real problems. he has no Autobot emblems, so you'll need a few stickers.

i posted videos on a few minor mods like filing down some of the tabs so the trailer pieces actually tab together.

 

The shoulder hinge on one of the arms on my copy (and many others) doesn't stay tabbed in place securely. The slightest movement and it comes out of place. The top cover of one of the white shoulder tips doesn't stay tabbed in on mine either.

 

You can always get this THF version for less if you can't find the official Takara version. At least the butt flap has been fixed.

 

I received Hyper Magnum today and couldn't be happier with him. I got him from Aliexpress for $75 but with a few bucks shipping and tax came to $83. I didn't look into this THF version at all before buying and did not know about the changes and upgrades they incorporated. I thought it was going to be pretty close to a straight KO to MP-22 but wow! was I wrong! Everything is tight on mine, even the red arm brackets, which I always thought from pics of MP-22 were a ridiculous design, but they are tight and hold fine no matter where a put them requiring decent pressure to move them. They stay tabbed when put them flush as well as everything else. All friction and ratchet joints are very solid without sagging or moving on their own. I hope this all stays like this over time cuz it's only been today that I've been messing with him. Hes chunky enough that I expect him to.

 

BTW: the 3D raised Autobot logo for MPP-10 and Hyper Magnum appear to be the same size measuring 15mm at the widest part of the logo at the top. Technically Magnus' raised base for a logo is 15.25mm and the MPP-10 logo is a hair under so it should fit very nice leaving a hairline of blue around the edge. There are some sellers on Aliexpress that are selling the different size fraction logos for the Wei Jiang OS bots so I'm going to try it unless there is a better option. The only thing that would need modifying is the back of all the Wei Jiang bot logos fit with pins molded in and will have to be filed down, or drill his arm.
