Probably not... Though, back on topic, I still see many-a-retailers and reviewers post "Verse Riser" instead of "Versriser" The boxes themselves have the names. I wonder if there's a kit of sorts to make Battle Convoy V-Max's "truck mode" look more like the Diaclone Battle Convoy.
I don’t normally look at them, but I flipped through the instructions this morning. Kinda odd, but the combination with the versriser 01 is the first thing shown, way before robot mode or anything else
Here’s all my mecha from the line (the powersuits and vehicles are on a different shelf). Only really missing the diabattles repaints, the white buffalo, and marine Digger. I guess I should aim to pick them up at some point? Convoy’s axe is just an unpainted filler at this point, I designed it for Planet X Jupiter, but I like the way it looks with Convoy for now. I’ll probably scale it down to fit it in his hands, or come up with something different in the next week or so (Ideally, I’d like something that folds up to become a bumper for alt-mode).
I just wish V-Max's hands tilted forward so that holding an axe or sword in an action pose didn't look so awkward. As a rule of thumb, I refuse to give melee weapons to any figures, be they Transformers or Diaclone, that can't properly wield them.
Ya I wish the hands had a better tilt, though I have found that you can kind of fake it worth the transformation hinge. You can also use the opening hands to simulate a tilt as well. I guess I’m not completely turned off by non-tilting hands though, I’m much more annoyed by figures coming with two handed rifles, but no way to wield them with two hands
Just to illustrate my point, I think v-max can be quite dynamic with a melee weapon despite the lack of wrist tilts, it just requires use of the opening hands. bear in mind, these aren’t good pictures and it looks much better in person. Also, as I said, I made the axe for a figure with 5mm hands, so a smaller handle would look way more natural.
Soooo... No one has a Neca 18" Knifehead to compare with the diaclone stuff? I know it's a something like 6 years old figure but i really wish i could see a comparison to get an idea of what i'm gonna get this week... Unfortunately i couldn't find any pic or video that compared him with anything i own, and i don't want my diaclone army to be unprepared for what's coming for them
I think it was meant to bring light to the fact that I don’t really know squat about Gridman but expect it to have combining vehicles. I show up to dinner and ask where the vehicles are like a dumbazzz. Just like if I was expecting chow mein.
Bbts seems like a wise choice for picking up the pod set because of domestic shipping and no additonal markup. Seems like tmall exclusives are more available here now than previously without additional markup.
Let’s just move on from the topic and let the sales numbers will speak for themselves... maybe it will be a dud after all. I’m just putting it out that there that they only catered to local preferences when they planned their line-up. I could have said Koreans and Kimchi at Hanukkah, or Indians and roti at CNY but that would just have set off someone else... just picking the most “stereotypical” pairing that’s all.
I mean I get it, i just didn’t think it was applicable. Gridman is the chow mein, it’s the unexpected item that doesn’t match the expectation. I’m not trying to argue, I’m just saying that it’s the first Diaclone crossover in five years and it doesn’t match anything the line has been doing. If anything, it’s the unexpected item at thanksgiving. I’m sure it’ll sell well, there’s a large number of Gridman fans, and by all accounts that I’ve seen the Good Smile figures haven’t been great. So I’m sure they’re starving for better figures. Im also sure there are fans of both Gridman and Diaclone out there and it’ll be a dream come true for them. Plus, there’s plenty of people like me who’ll pretty much buy anything Diaclone.
So, someone asked about how we organize a while back. I was in the middle of setting up, so I couldn't share... I now have my small parts, weapons and Nauts/Droids organized... I have mechs in totes, but these trays are working great for parts. (The stickers came from Red Bubble.)
same here, just one for me 3 more months to go In the Diaclone Reboot teaser back on 2015, RGB was at the fore-front, and some Diaclone toys are at the background. We somewhat have an updated / improved versions off those background toys, except Dia-Attacker. So I'm betting on that. RGB for the 5th reveal would be INFINITELY better, but let's not hope too much https://www.taghobby.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/ph01.jpg The crossover hopefully will sell more Diaclone Reboot and helps TT continues the line, as nonsense as it is to current fans (I'm partial, and DGU-01 helps me scratch my DiaBattles v2 itch) DFO - Directive Flying Orbiter. As usual, funny name by TakaraTomy but I can understand what they're trying to say
I can see this happening. Given that gridman wears the battle hanger like exosuit and if you observe the Verse Riser vol.2, it's in the same vein. Powered Convoy with exoskeleton trailer coming in! I'm all for the Great Robot Base, but man they have to regain back the traction, y'know? I'm on the other side of the fence seeing that Gridman crossover is one of the most plausible collaborations out there (Hyper world lore, etc etc) because this collab at most is polarizing to many. Something like Great Robot Base requires massive undertaking and Taktom needs the momentum. I figure we get accompanying bases in near future, and if all goes well then BOOM! GRB Volume 1? maybe they'll stagger it as such. Either way my friends! gridman or not, slow releases or we're at the end of the current figure lineup only gives us wild imaginations of things to come! Maybe we get something totally left field and unexpected (Brave collab? Damn long Diatrain release in volumes?) It's a good time to speculate and enjoy our playsets for the time being! EDIT: DFO sounds totally like a flying armchair commander. That is so cheesy, it's awesome!
