Agreed. If Grimlock turns out to be a kickass figure, sign me up.

Isn't MMC IDW CHUG scaled? And PX does MP IDW along with GCreations. Or am I wrong?

Personally, I'm much more interested in MP figures.

I don't know if Boss Penguin would call that respect. Imagine spending X amount of money developing a new mold from scratch only to have your thunder stolen by another company. If that's called respect, then please stop respecting me ;)

As much as I like MMC Overlord, the alt modes aren't accurate. I think that's something PX could improve upon.

    Ebay:
I paid around 250ish w/ the upgrades years ago. It's one of the best figures I own..and leagues better than their other releases.

Hm you’re probably right. Though I don’t recall if MMC had already announced DZef before PX announced and released Ismenios. I though PX announced theirs first and then MMC had a hasty announcement afterwards that obviously wasn’t even close to production (as Ismenios is a couple years old now, released in January 2019, and MMC hasn’t given any update on theirs in months). In that case I wouldn’t blame PX. As for Grimlock, I know MMC announced theirs first but again it wasn’t even in prototype stage.

media: just checked, Planet X announced Ismenios in May 2018 and released in Jan 2019. MMC announced in July 2018 so def no fault of Planet X.

I don't think this is a matter of someone's fault. MMC and Planet X are competitors. I mean just look at FT, XTB and DX9 fighting it out with their Menasors. MMC does not have an exclusive right to IDW characters ..... Hasbro does and MMC does not give a crap about Hasbro either ;)

Good point. Agree completely. I wish there was enough demand in the community for both companies to thrive but unfortunately it does not seem like that’s the case, even though their IDW scales are slightly different. I like figures from both companies and would love to see healthy competition if possible.

I hope they do a re-release. Had him, sold him, miss him now my IDW interest has been reignited by Optus Pexus and Kuro Kara Kuri Megatron. Plus my kid wants him back and a Fans Hobby won’t do as he isn’t as ”pretty”. MMC better listen to the youngest generation of collectors!

No. Only the new Planet X IDW Grimlock is technically MP scale. Deathsaurus and Star Saber are chug, too small for masterpiece. I'd debate that PX's Grimlock is still chug, in Maximum Dynobots Grimlock was massive, and thats the version they're doing. Later in IDW Grimlock has a very similar design but hes nowhere near as huge. It's a whole thing.

MMC's Reformatted stuff is mainly supposed to be CHUG, but I personally at least find that at least a couple releases actually fit nicely with MP. Stray is sitting next to MP-10 on my shelf ATM and I think he's a great fit.

Planet X did Star Saber and Deathsaurus mainly with CHUG scale in mind, with Grimlock being MP-scale, which I honestly think is a good move for him.

Oh wowww, I hadn't seen the PX Cacus (IDW Grimlock) before. That looks great! Would PX be the kinda company to ever consider throwing in a G1 headsculpt?

I've really been trying to decide what DiBots to get. This looks like a great figure. I hope he's quality! Thank you, gentlemen!

Imo he is the best reformatted figure ever, but maybe I'm biased because I love mmc and overlord lol. Optus Pexus is great but Carnifex is still #1. And I had Fanshobbys version as well but sold him because I got out of masterpiece collecting and focused on idw chug.

Don't get me wrong, brother, I fucking love Overlord. One of my absolute favorites from IDW, and Carnifex has been a holy grail of mine since I started collecting (that I still have yet to get...). But I feel that Pexus is both the pinnacle and a sign of nothing but more good things to come from what MMC has to offer.

I love Optus but I'm not thrilled with the transformation. I find that I have to fiddle with alignments a lot longer than I should need to. That shouldn't be an issue with a transformation as simple as the one found on Optus. That said, the simplicity also prevents things from getting too frustrating. I just hope they find a way to improve upon alignments for figures as poseable as this guy before they use him as a template.

The transformation gets easier the more I do it but theres one part that I hate every time, those big hands. The clearance makes me feel like something is gonna break lining it all up

Yeah, that part isn't fun. Not to mention that no matter what I do I can't get the shin/leg panels perfectly closed due to said hands. All in all though not anything makes me regret my purchase in the slightest. Like most figures I'm sure Carnifex has his quirks.
