Where can I buy a compatible base for this figure without having to spend another $100 plus for another figure that I don't want?

    My waist joint is fine.

I'm having trouble with the tail. I can't get my fist in such a way to allow the panels to close properly.

I'm looking for a usable stand myself, and I'm wondering if those larger Action Bases for Gundam model kits could be good alternatives. I'd probably have to mod an attachment for it though.

I have no interest in an MP Dinobot at the moment so I'm not gonna buy one just for a stand.

Crap, my Megatron can't transform. The head is stuck and can't fold in. I checked several videos and people made no special mention of anything extra to get the head folded down. Gonna see if there some way around it.

Is it clearance or the hinge? If it's the hinge, dropping a little lube in there should fix it. I got the 1st batch of this figure over a year ago and had to loosen the shoulders. Mine can't transform at all though, a lot of the beast mode panels for the rear end are warped to hell and back.

Damn! You made him look good. Guess it's time to put my BW MPs back on display. And build some terrain.
I'm loving the starry backdrop and grass!

Mine was the same. If you look from the back in, it is locked in by a channel on each side. Pushing down on the middle seemed scary and was stressing it, so I worked one side out and then the other. Sanded it down just a little and now it clears and locks just fine

It's the tab and not the hinge. I managed to file it down and get it just enough for the head to fold down, and a satisfying click when I pop it back up.

Yeah, now my center waist won't slide in cause the tabs won't meet the body perfectly. This will be easier to file, but also a bigger and longer tab. What a pain.

Decided to hit this page back up considering I just got my copy in the mail today, and detail a bit of my experience. First off I ordered from ShowZ and despite some of the horror stories that I've seen in here it was actually packed very nicely. Not sure if it was just luck of the draw or if they're taking steps to pack it better going forward, but the figure was inside its plastic clamshell tray, within a brown cardboard box, which had little plastic pieces at each of the corners and a generous amount of bubble wrap around that, and all of it was packed within a ShowZ branded plastic pack. So needless to say, the box and the figure arrived in great shape. The figure side of thing checks out with the tight joints, clean paint, and cheapish plastic, but something of note is my experience with the little "hole" a lot of people have cited as being present on the right side of his collar (his right that is). Not sure if I'm just seeing this incorrectly, but on my copy it looks like that hole isn't a hole at all, but instead just a bit of a black smudge. Again, I could just be acting like a dumb dumb and seeing things wrong, but I think some of these newer copies have fixed that little hole in the mold, or at least not all of the copies have it. Not sure why there's still a black smudge in the same spot, but at least that's easier to fix than an actual hole in the mold. And a side note about all the electronic functions: none of them worked out of the box on my copy except for the light up feature for the blast effect. Weird how it worked out, but at the same time I could give a crap about lights and sound features on a figure.

ShowZ appears to have them back in stock. I may end up having to grab this guy myself.

Do you think it was a bad design choice to make BW Megs without two actual hands in bot mode?

I do. For a while, I'd never even seen the tail detach from his left arm, which really had me worried. But at the very least, I hoped that they would have an arm replacement kind of gimmick.
