It's not an issue of choosing or not choosing to fold the windows in. It's that they didn't allow enough space inside the backpack for the windows the fold in without stressing when the backpack is fully pegged in.

Just for shits and giggles, I tried playing around with seeing if there's anywhere else for the windows to go other than the tiny slots between the sides of the backpack and the armature. There isn't. You could choose to leave the windows folded up on top of the backpack, but then that gets in the way of the weapons.

    It's basically a design flaw.

    I see no flaw.
This is how mine are positioned. I have them on the inside of the side filler piece.

... because it's a remold with an entirely different backpack, which I already mentioned a few posts back.

Paean has room to store the windows. Aegis doesn't.

A little FYI, there are no armatures in any of these bots unless motorized. I have no idea how this word came to be used to describe any parts that make up the figures but it's so wrong. An armature is the shaft assembly wound with wire in an electric motor. I see a lot of reviewers call a part an armature when it seems to be a more central, shelled piece that has more structure and mounting points and I dont get it.

Merriam-Webster points out that it's used as a synonym for framework. But if you have a better suggestion for a term, let's hear it.

I know of the use of it from merriam webster as a wire frame to hold something in place which is sort of close as a mount but in these bots/figures we collect, not at all in relation to the parts and pieces that make them up. A better suggestion, depends on if the particular part has a specific term but most of the time it's simply a mounting point on a bracket. There is so much engineering that goes into these things and are made to look like the parts from vehicles by themselves or multiple pieces molded together into one part so I guess there isn't one term but armature is wrong.

Like I said: you can have "armature" back when you come up with a different term that doesn't suck to write out or use. And you still probably won't get it back, because the people using it don't care. Read the room.

"Armature" is typically used by Transformers fans to describe a long, thin piece that's used to attach a small part of the toy to the rest of the toy (or, sometimes, the long thin piece PLUS whatever small part of the toy is attached to it). Given that "armature" means "skeletal framework used to support the bulk of a figure/sculpture", the TF fandom use of the word seems... completely fine?

I wasn't writing or saying anything with attitude so I didn't expect to get any, just conversating in a chat room and stating a fact. If i said something to offend I still dont know what it is. No worries

I've noticed. Although over the years I've seen just about every piece that makes up any bot referred to as an "armature". I still think it's wrong and being used out of context. When it's used to describe framework, I've only ever seen it meant to describe an external support frame to hold something that is being built.

The only issue I've had with either was on Paean the pin that holds one of the pieces that secures the backpack to the body fell out or was never installed properly and I had to use needlenose pliers to put that back in out of the box. Luckily I didn't lose the super tiny pin as it was rattling around inside the figure and I was able to get it. Still not confident it's the best, but it's held through a couple of transformations now.

*sorry, if this is in the wrong place, please let me know. Don't post very often in 3rd party forums*

Got the MX-8T version in a few weeks ago, great figure and one of my favorites, but today he feels complete.

Finally got some more clear backed decals in from Toyhax

I saw Ages 3 and Up has MX-8T Aegis in stock @ $129 so I decided to grab one. Just to keep adding Toyota Hilux's to the collection I threw a MMC PS-060 Terraegis Offroad in the cart to bump the bill over $200 and get free shipping. I just wonder if the white offroad version comes with the extra head like the yellow version did, couldn't find any pics or info of it with the alternate head.

Thank you for the verification, much appreciated! I figured as much because why would they change it up just because color is different, but it's good knowing for sure. That bot looks great and glad it was available, it's going to be another one needing work/fixes right out of the box from all that I read.

He really does. I'm not a fan of the face swapping process, but I enjoy the face options

Hope they will reissue the toy version as well.
Best with all the improvements and additional faces from the toon version.

I wish they would release the silver legged/armed toy version with all those improvements and accessories that toon version came with as well but my gut says we won't see it. If we do get a v1/toy reissue it will likely be the same as the it's initial release. If anything they might give it the same hands (not fully articulated) that the toon has.
