I think that's a pretty popular stance, save for those who loathe the Fossilizers. Every other Deluxe has been a hit from the sounds of it

is it a matter of the baby blue coloring, the weird flail weapon, or its engineering?

Eh, I like it a good bit. The tail weapon isn't what I would have gone with, but my copy is solid and quite enjoyable.

Hasbro need to stop dipping into the G1 barrel for its inspiration. Make new, interesting and fun toys. Design the toys, then give them to someone to come up with new characters. Let loose. Forget Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee. Don’t look back.

LOL, I figured the "forget G1" was the unpopular bit. Thanks for the welcome. Still trying to get the read of the room, but you guys seem really cool!

If upcoming lines are primarily any of the following:

    Shattered Glass
    Armada/Ebergon/Cybertron
    Rescue Bots

...then I'll be taking a nice spend-free vacation.

Shattered Glass- some nice colors on occasion, but with an awful, AWFUL pretense. Just make them Autobots and Decepticons that share body styles without the nonsense good/evil version thing.
Yeah, I know re-labeling is a thing, but that would involve putting sticky paper all over them and I don't see a point.

A/E/C- I just have no interest in the series. Watched a few episodes here and there and found it pretty terrible. There are some good designs, and I would be tempted by few, but not enough to care. The ONLY one I'd probably buy would be the Optimus teased by Takara years ago.

RB- never paid attention to it, so bringing it to the mainline wouldn't appeal to me.

I also have no instrest in the series, but I do like some of the designs.

I hear the Japanese version is better, so I might give that a watch after I clear my enormous show watch list.

    My unpopular opinion today is:

    KD Blackarachnia is overrated.

Next year is G1 heavy with some sprinkles of BW, Armada, and maybe Prime. SG is just a subline. Guess you're stuck here a little longer :p

I'm surprised that no one has done such a mod using the universe Cosmo as his saucer is pretty perfect for the saucer section and all that's needed would be the add-ons for the secondary hull and warp nacelles to simply fold over in the back.

SG - I've stated here before how uninterested I am in this repaint subline. The opposite universe trope is too played out.

AEC - Was during my dark years not really paying full attention to Transformers so I feel no nostalgia for it. Would likely skip anything from that trilogy, but would keep an open mind about them.

RB - Is there talk of them actually doing these characters in Generations? Might give that some consideration depending how they are done.

These past few years I've been able to cherry pick what I want from Generations. Glad I don't want everything that has been coming out.

Huffer has better engineering for his shoulders than SS86 Hot Rod.

I really don’t mind when figures have a bit of kibble. These are robots who change into cars, and seeing bits of car detailing hang off them is pretty realistic, and adds a bit to the realism of their conversation. Sure kibble can be an absolute death sentence for certain figures, but when it doesn’t impede articulation or anything, I can’t see it as anything besides design detail.

Bottom line, a little kibble never hurt anyone.

Gonna be a light year for me, though if it's G1 heavy.

I’ve pretty much said before that I expect the next toy line to be primarily focused on G1. What I’m wondering is if they’re going to do characters from season 3 and beyond, or if they’re just going to rehash the same characters from the first two seasons. Like you, it’ll be a light year for me and my wallet will be happy.

Isn't it just WFC leftovers? How is the G1 heavy?

I'm betting that if you want late G1 characters your best bet is probably going back to the Prime Wars trilogy and get some of the figures from those lines. Hasbro re-releasing the CW Devastator set and the Titans Return headmasters are probably a good sign that those characters aren't going to be revisiting those characters soon and considers those figures decent enough for now.

It's more G1 which consists partially of repacks from WFC
